This zoo is alright. I mean, I guess it's pretty good compared to other zoos. I which it had some more attractions for older kids and adults. While looking at animals is fun for the little ones, it does tend to get a little dull and boring for adults. Food here is horrible and truly disgusting and overpriced. I have eaten better hot dogs at Costco. The only "ride" they have is a train thing that just makes two circles around a pretty small portion of the park. The tickets for the train cost $3. Rip. Off.

You really do need to try to save a space for pudding at Cafe Annalita. I thought there must be a better translation of Pasta Prima than "hot crumb cake with cream". However Iโd be at a loss to describe it better. All you really need to know is that it is fantastic, and has to be tried. Trouble is, so does the semifreddo di amaretti con cioccolato caldo. And the chocolate mousse is possibly the best in SF, and the selection of sorbets includes walnut, apricot and fig, all served in tiny portions in their appropriate shells... this really is food to die for.
To go with this feast there is a wine list of over 400 labels representing all the regions of Italy. Service is by charming and efficient young ladies, and the loo is five star. Enough said? One final note - thereโs a no smoking policy at tables inside, a rarity in Rome. Booking advisable.

Youโd never know that you are three minutes walk from Delancey.
Crossroads Cafe seats about 24 inside and even fewer outside under the shade of an ancient vine. Maybe thatโs why the cooking gives the impression itโs for you alone โ certainly, it couldnโt be fresher. This is likely to become one of those restaurants which has to be patronised on every visit to SF - we havenโt yet worked our way through the menu and itโs all just too tempting. It was good enough that we felt obliged to return within 24 hours, just to make sure our judgement was accurateโฆ
Antipasti set the scene for the meal to follow. Sendies were wonderful and deserts were impecable!

When I heard Cafe Abir was opening up, I jumped at the chance to give it a go. What better place to enjoy an authentic Italian food than a new restaurant? Food was great at Cafe Abir and the neighborhood is great too - easy to park. The best part of the menu were appetizers and desert (think creme brule at $5 that taste like a $1K desert!!!!!)
I highly recomend this place - check it out on a Tue - the quite day there.

Ella's Restaurant is one of SF restaurants.
Right by the site of the park, Ella's Restaurant is centrally placed for guests in some of the more illustrious hotels to enjoy fine dining with impeccable service.
The guest book reveals that in the past this included Stravinsky, Charlie Chaplin and Marcello Mastroianni. For those less well-heeled, be warned that the prices are steep (but check out their website for special offers).
The ambience is pleasant and refined, with immaculate pink table linen and an abundance of discreet waiters. The cuisine, as one would expect, is elegant, and harks back to an earlier era when dishes were frequently prepared at the table โ such as my delicious SantโErasmo asparagus with parmesan, for which the butter was melted as I watched.
A classy version of the classic pasta e fagioli (soup with pasta and beans) was excellent. Main courses include seasonal fish (John Dory, sea bass, superb sole, expertly filleted at the table, on our visit), and fairly standard lamb and beef options. The selection of tiny vegetables (the same garnishing each dish) was a disappointment.
Puddings include home-made ice cream and delicious-looking pastries, hot apple pie with pistachio sauce. The wine list is long and varied, with interesting local varieties very well represented.

The bad news is that Sai's Restaurant, the restaurant that used to occupy these premises, is no more โ after years of providing wonderful food and even better value, the husband and wife team who ran it have retired.
We visited Sai's Restaurant just a week after it opened and found a very different atmosphere โ no less friendly, but definitely more up-market and chic. Now really a bar / pizzeria rather than a full restaurant, the prices have also changed.
The pizza we had were good but not spectacular, but this was early days and the young and enthusiastic manager has ambitious plans for the site. Weโll report back on developments. Medium price.

Food and service at Watercress Restaurant are great without being obtrusive, and it's not surprising that many of the diners there were locals. House white is Verduzzo, and delicious sgroppini arrived, unbidden, on the house, at the end of our meal. Now that's what I call a restaurant.
Until 18 months ago this was the popular restaurant - it is not as popular now..
The decor is basic white walls with yellow linen, in a high-ceilinged room which is probably delightfully cool in summer. There's no view - you will have realised that when finding your way here through a maze of narrow streets - but what appears on your plate is certainly worth looking at.

Food is great - especially main entrees. PRices are low and the service is wonderful. Waiters are very nice and fast, cooks are careful when preparing food.
Enjoy this restaurant

Just outside the Fillmore and off the bustling Geary, Indian Oven Restaurant is another simple Indian Restaurant offering more than just simple fare. Plain white walls, dark beams and bare tables create a calm, cool atmosphere in which to choose from a menu featuring much of interest, especially to those - and I'm among them - who like their verdure.
The appitizers looked good but I couldn't resist starting with carote curry from the list, which also included interesting things done to endive, verdure in padella curry and piroshki-type of food, the tiny flat onions cooked in a sweet and sour oil. Here they come with raisins and are marvellous.
Great place!

There's no dress code whatsoever, and time doesn't seem to exist as you relax, lean back on a Rennaissance-retro chair with sumptuous cushions, glass in hand, and admire the high beamed ceiling of what possibly started life as a boathouse, listening to soft jazz. Some people just know how to do things.
Great food!
