The dentist has a firm and steady approach but my daughter, who is afraid of the dentist, was never able to get anywhere with the dentist. She loved the office, the staff, the setting, the child-friendly atmosphere. But, the dentist talked over my daughter, said things in front of her that scared her, ignored her crying as though it was nothing and ended up making my daughter more fearful. Too bad because it's a nice and friendly office. If your child is shy, has any sensory issues (like gagging with the gloves), is sensitive and takes in more than he/she seems to be, this is not the right dentist. That said, many of our friends LOVE this dentist and her approach has worked. With the younger set (5 and under) she's probably not as good as with older kids who have the dentist thing down a bit more.
