The Monrovia West Antique Mall is one of the better antique malls in the Southern California area. There is a good variety of antiques, and the overall quality of the merchandise in the booths is quite good. They also seem to constantly have new merchandise. Parking is convenient, and the shop is well-run, making it a pleasant place to look around.

This place is just fun to walk through. Just for Fun is know for its restorations of coin-op machines, gumball machines, soda fountains and gas-related items like pumps and air meters. They make classic diner seating also! Ever wanted a 1950s diner pie holder, a ‘50s Sunkist Juicit, a gumball machine or a '50s candy pull machine? They have them all.

This is a great place to look for period hardware such as doorknobs, hinges, light plates, drawer pulls, etc. This store is also a superb hardware resource if you're remodeling a craftsman home. The selection is extensive, and, if they don't have what you're looking for, you can check through the catalogs at the service counter and order from there. The quality is high, but, unfortunately, so are their prices. Still the selection is hard to beat.

Cliffs Books is a Pasadena area independent used bookstore that has many unusual and rare titles, so it’s a good place for readers and collectors both to check out. Thanks to CalTech being nearby, the store has a solid science section that you usually don’t find in a used bookstore. However, if you’re looking for a helpful, comfortable bookstore, this isn’t it. The staff vacillates from somewhat friendly to downright surly.
