This year, on my little brother's birthday, I bought him a wooden train and some wooden cars from this fairly new store on Burlingame Ave. They have some really cute, original (you'll never see these toys at TOYS R US) toys, and I'm sure they're very educational too. I'm not so crazy about their prices or about their staff either. I'd recommend this place if you were willing to spend quite a bit of money on a toy you couldn't get at Target. Nice addition to the Ave though.

Whenever my friends and I have a minimum day at our school, we come here for lunch. They have delicious sandwiches with some special kind of spread with all these different, yummy herbs. My favorite sandwiches at famous Lucca's are: the tuna sandwich, the roast beef sandwich, and of course the classic turkey sandwich. This place is very close and convenient to my hou se and school, so you can always find me there. great job, Lucca!

Their clothes are really good quality, but not worth the price. I'm sure you can get something that looks the same from somewhere else for a better deal. The people who go here are usually rich, and have nothing better to do with their money. Do not go here, girls, unless you're a Paris wannabe (and who wants to be like Paris?)... :)

I've never been to this place (because I usually head directly to the Hillsdale mall where all the shops are), but when I heard they were having a close out sale, my friend and I went to check it out (you can usually always find something at any close out sale). Well, when I went, I was glad I was there (especially to see what the items USED to be priced which was expensive). I found a lot of containers and "organizing" stuff I had always needed at very good prices. Go check it out before they're closed for good!

Whenever I'm in San Mateo for a doctor's appointment or whatever, I always make it a point to eat lunch at Trag's. They have a great selection of ready-made foods which are a great alternative to some of the "fatty" restaurants in San Mateo. I love their sushi (always tastes fresh), their salads, and sandwiches. This is also a great place to go grocery shopping - they're prices are average (not too expensive, just right). Come have lunch here! You won't regret it. Everybody will find something they like.

This is such a nice alternative to the zoo or a big museum. Although I hate seeing animals in captivity, the animals here seem like they're treated well (plus, I don't think they directly take them out of the wild. I think they just find injured animals and nurse them back to health). They also have great volunteering opportunities. The kids and toddlers seem to have a great time! It's a nice atmosphere and it's great because most (i think all) of the animals are bay area "natives".

I don't know, but if I wanted to buy some toys, this wouldn't be my top choice (you should also see the prices!). Toys R Us would be my top choice.

I've been looking for hair salons that braid cornrows for some time now (I even posted a question about it on judysbook), and I found a place. My friend who usually braids my hair is away on vacation, so I needed an alternate to keep my hair tight and away from my face during this hot summer. I just happened to find a girl at UK Salon who just happens to know how to do traditional cornrows. They're pretty expensive, but it's what I wanted (she coudn't have done it better). It cost $7 per braid (in Frisco, they do it for less, but I live far away from there :(. But she straightened the bottom and made it all pretty. I would recommend this hair salon (they have really good reviews!) to anybody who wants a new hair style/color/whatever. Enjoy! ;)

This store has everything I could possibly need for my soccer needs. They have really comfy, durable cleats (although I've found better prices elsewhere) with brand names (Adidas, Nike, Puma, etc...). One of my favorite things that they have are the warm up suits. I can't live without my Adidas track suit! They also have really cute sports bags and other stuff to help you on the field. So, if you're a true soccer player, and are looking for some new equipment to better your game, come here!
