Dr. Maria Mena is my children's pediatrician and has been since 2002 when my oldest was born. She is very experienced and caring. If you are unfortunate enough to have to take your child to the hospital, she calls ahead and talks to everyone and you basically get the red carpet treatment. She is highly respected at the hospitals, I guess, and they treat her patients with extra care. When my son michael was 13 days old, she hospitalized him overnight for dehydration...she called me at 10pm at the hospital to talk to me, and she came by on rounds the next morning. She is a very conservative, cautious doctor who likes to cover all the angles when your children are sick to make sure that the cause is found. She is never dismissive of the parents' concern. The only drawback with Dr. Mena is that she is a sole practioner and her practice is huge, so sometimes you have to wait awhile to see her, although they will ALWAYS fit you in if your child is ill. She's the best!!

This is the group that delivered my two kids. Dr. Dotto delivered Emily in 2002, and Dr. Foley delivered Michael in 2003. Dr. Dotto is the "lead" doctor of the practice and is also head of the Ob-Gyn dept at Pascack Valley Hospital. He is so professional and caring. Dr. Foley is younger and my personal favorite of the practice. He is a very kind and caring doctor. He called me at home after hours to check on me when I had my miscarriages before having Emily. He performed both of my amnios and I trust him with my life. Drs. Golin and Wang are great, too, I just had less contact with them. Now, about the office staff. From the nurses (Anna and Kathy are the RNs in charge) to the receptionist, they are the greatest ladies to deal with. Whether you are pregnant or not, they will fit you in that day or the next if you have a problem...and only a couple of weeks or so if it's routine. The nurses were so good at always calling me back and dealing with any of my issues during pregnancy and they are very calm and relaxing. I like the practice in that one doctor (there are 4 that deliver babies and 1 that doesn't) is on call every day and the rest are in the office. It makes it so much more convenient to schedule. I definitely recommend them without reservation.
