A few years ago, my wife and I took a Pontiac Grand Am to M&M because it had a cracked block.
The initial estimate was $200. We got a call about 2 days later saying that it was going to be $800, and they'd already started the work.
We said no, because the car still run. They said "not anymore: we've started taking it apart". They offered to keep to their $200 estimate if we just towed the unworking car away, and they'd give us the parts they removed in a plastic sack.
They really had us over a barrel... we had no choice but to pay the $800 (even though the car was only worth about $1500), but we'll NEVER go back there again!

Danny is not the cheapest mechanic in town... but he's just about the only one who works on differentials, so you kinda have to pay his prices.
That said, he DOES do quality work, and keeps you appraised of the progress.
I'd recomend someone cheaper, but there's no one else in town that does differentials... so I think it's him or no one!

If you work downtown, you may initially think that all the parking compaies (Central, American, APA etc) are the same.
BIG mistake. I've parked in both Central & American lots... American is head and shoulders above Central for maintaining their lots.
American's lots are cleared of debris (such as beer bottles) every week, and periodically hosed off if a flock of pigeons has landed nearby. The same can't be said for their competitors.
Since the price to park is about the same, I'd recomend an American lot, unless you want to be stepping over pigeon poo and beer bottles on your way to work.

This is Ryan's Wife posting... just so there's no confusion...
There are lots of hair stylists in Tulsa... but I drive out of my way to see Deni at Tulsa Style. She sometimes suggests some bold things (she wanted to make my highlights copper instead of blonde), but I've NEVER been disapointed! She's as much an artist as a stylist... count on her to give you something attractive and hip, but still simple & stylish.
She also did my hair for my wedding... it turned out better than I could have hoped for! So I recomend her for wedding hair as well.

Parkhill is about $2 cheaper per bottle on wine, and about $1 cheaper a 6 pack on beer. Probably not worth driving out of your way if you're just picking up one bottle, but if you're buying for a wedding, party, etc... you can save quite a bit.
One more thing I like... if you buy 12 items or more, they give you 10% off your entire purchase. So it pays to stock up!

The Hairy Beast offers either drop-off service, or service while you wait. They primarily do dogs (I've never seen a cat in there)... and do a particularly cute job on poodles. But if all you want is a basic shampoo and brushing, they'll do that too. They're easy to work with, and strive to do what YOU want rather than what they think looks best.

Fine Host specializes in HUGE catering events - things that fill the convention center or a hotel ballroom.
If you have a gathering of 500+ people add Fine Host to your short list... they will take care of all the details, and their food is wonderful.
If you have a party of less than 100 people... they're probably not the cheapest. You may wind up paying way too much per person - they're set up for huge events, not little intimate ones.

When applying to colleges in High School, I was initially scared by TU's price tag. I later realized... NO ONE pays full price! There's so much scholarship money to go around, I would up paying less than I would have going to OU.
TU's small class sizes are really great. I'm 3 years out of school, and am still friends with some of my teachers. They're there to really coach you... not just thru the class, but thru college, and into the real world.
Their career center is top-notch. The can hook you up with jobs with dozens of Fortune 500 companies... and you're a PERSON, not a number like at OU (where my sister goes).
Anyway, I recomend anyone from the Tulsa area to apply to TU, and check out their financial aid. I'm betting you'll be pleasently surprised.

Good job, more expensive than estimated
We used Herritage once - they did a good job, although they did go over their initial estimate.
But they were very upfront about the fact that they were going over... which I appriciated.

Not so "affordable"
Don't let the name fool you - while they're no more than any of the other mid-sized companies, they're not cheaper either.
Also, they tend to prefer smaller jobs to major building or remodeling...
