Hickory Dickory Dock is like a local version of Chucky Cheese. They even have mouse. It's located in Hickory and not hard to find at all. They have a soft play area for the younger kids, which is an indoor jungle gym along with the ballpits. They have arcade games, bumper cars, and miniature golf. For some reason, the miniature golf isn't a full eighteen holes. Not sure what the deal is what that. They have laser tag that older kids will enjoy. They do birthday parties and they have a restaurant that serves your typical fast foods and pizza. If you don't enjoy loud places with kids running around this really isn't the place for you.

Now this is a place that has a little bit of everything. You can find things here that you probably couldn't even imagine. There are tons of people that come to sell here and even more that come to buy. They're open year round only on Saturday's and Sunday's. They have three large indoor buildings and tons of outdoor spaces. You can find name brand items new and used along with home made crafts, food, and of course home grown produce. Be prepared for some walking, there's a lot of space to cover. Parking is awful, it's a royal pain in the behind to try to find a spot and to navigate through everything. Bring your common sense too because there are people that will try to rip you off. They have a furniture store on site and they have ton's of pets for sale. Exotic to normal pets. In the summer I would advice using some sunscreen.

Taking the kids to go see a professional football game is always fun. The kids love going into the stadium. My son is amazed by large buildings and loves going to highrises in Charlotte. So he was definitely amazed by the Bank of America Stadium. Very large with plenty to see. You know kids they want to check out all the bathrooms. Be prepared though because it's not cheap at all. We try to get our tickets when the Panthers are on, ah hem, a losing streak. The tickets tend to be cheaper that way and the kids don't care who loses, they're just excited to go. Even if you can get your tickets cheap, be prepared for the cost of extras. The food and drinks are high and so are any souvenirs they may want.

It's exactly as the title says. They sell new and refurbished vacuums and sewing machines. They also sell any type of accessory you could imagine that vacuums and sewing machines have. They also repair and maintain most vacuums and sewing machines. They also have a seamstress who does alterations and can be commissioned to do sewing of entire outfits, curtains, bedspreads etc. They also do scissor sharpening. The prices are extremely reasonable for the vacuums and sewing machines. And you couldn't buy an outfit for the price they charge to sew. Extremely cheap prices and high quality work.

The Organic MarketPlace is located on New Hope Rd in Gastonia. It used to be behind Milano's but it's moved to bigger location a few feet away beside the Kingsway gas station. This is the best place to find herbal supplements and organic food for everyone in your family, from your children to your animals. They also carry herbal skin and body care products, like toothpastes, deodorants, lotions and shampoos, as well as fragrant body oils. I think the prices are somewhat average compared to other stores that just care these types of products. They also carry unique gifts as well. With their new location, they have a lot more to offer.

Located near Hickory North Carolina it's the area’s only ice skating rink except for going to the Eastland Mall. It's only about a thirty to forty-five minute drive. They are open year-round for public skating. They offer free-style sessions. The also do birthday and group packages. The pricing is decent in my opinion especially since you don't really see ice skating rinks around. Kids are bound to have a good time and if you're brave enough to try it you might also surprise yourself and have some fun. They even offer lessons given by 1997 American Open Professional Pair Champions Kim and Gray Johnson.

The Catawba Science Center reminds of The Discovery Place only smaller. It's located in Hickory, North Carolina, which isn't far from here. A thirty to forty-five minute drive tops. It's an educational museum to teach not only about North Carolina but the world around us. They have exhibits to teach about the native plants and animals in North Carolina, complete with a "mountain spring". They have a rock wall and tree house. They have a touch pool where you can touch some marine life. You can experience what an earthquake feels like. They have new exhibits coming in all the time and the fee to get in is really cheap, only four dollars for adults. It's a great place to spend the day with the kids.

Tony's Ice Cream has been around since before I was even born. They remind me of a Dairy Queen only better. The main reason they're better is that they actually offer ice-cream in flavors beside just vanilla. They offer food like Dairy Queen does also. Just your basic fast foods like burgers and hotdogs. They're more known for the ice-cream. Most of the ice-cream is made there on the spot. They offer milkshakes and banana splits and floats also. The prices are about average. Nothing expensive. They offer some unique flavors as well, such as, grape, pineapple, lemon, and banana pudding. You can even buy some pints and gallon's to take home if you wish.

Well besides my house anyway ;o) The selection that they offer and the price is great. The food is wonderful and even my picky kids like eating there. They especially like the hushpuppies that they give you while you wait. The atmosphere is ok, it's nothing fancy but again it's a barbeque place, what do you expect? You can see the barbeque being cooked in the open pit. The wait staff is prompt and courteous. They have two locations, this one on Franklin Blvd in Gastonia and one in Lowell. They also offer fundraising for local schools and businesses.

This is the type of shop that makes you feel like you live in a small town again. They are the type of people where they want to get to know you and have you as a constant repeat customer. They carry a wide assortment of sporting goods and uniforms. They do custom designs for your team uniforms and the prices that can't be beat. They also carry things for the local school in our area. They could probably use more space and a better location but that doesn't stop people from going in.
