Big John's Tavern is a Charleston institution. A place to go when you're low on dough and want to have a good time.
The atmosphere at Big John's is a classic dive: loud music, pool tables, smoke in the air, various flags tacked to the ceiling, bras hanging from the ceiling (yes, actual bras from actual drunk chics), etc. There's karaoke, pool, Golden Tee golf, and it's almost impossible to go to Big John's and not run into somebody you know.
If you're looking to sip on a dry martini in an elegant atmosphere, Big John's ain't the place for you.
But if you'd like to chow down on some inexpensive food and swill a few cheap brews, head on down to Big John's.
