This is a very nice, clean store. The clothes are organized and all in great condition. The prices are fair and she usually has cute stuff. If you are interested in selling clothes this is also a great place. She doesn't consign but actually pays you upfront. She has a very good eye and will find spots on clothing that I missed. Only takes great condition, good quality clothing.

This store has an vast selection of fine cotton fabrics - primarily meant for quilting. You can do some serious damage to the bank account in here. The prices are at the top end for cottons - $8-9 a yard or so. They have both colors groupings and line groupings - so it is quite easy to pull together coordinates for a project. They also carry a vast line of quilting books and a decent notions section. They offer classes, whcih I haven't not had the pleasure of taking. They offer some lovely Japanese fabrics and other variety fabrics. I've never been able to leave empty handed!

This little store is packed full of sensible kids clothes. It is a little hard to look through things as somone is always trying to squeeze past, but some very functional clothes can be found here for very reasonable prices. They also have a line of new cotton knit clothes and they sell consigned strollers and a few other gear items. They also take clothing on consignment. All that being said, I rarely shop here. Too crowded and not that great of deals.

This is a very small store in the CIty Centre building lobby downtown (which is full of upscale shops). They have amazing art jewelry of all styles and a line of exquisite fine jewelry. This is beautiful hand made work, so the prices reflect that craftsmanship. I think that least expensive is in the $300 range and it goes up to $3000 for finely crafted gold, platinum and precious gem pieces. Even if you aren't in the market for wearables, it is worth a visit just to see some of the pieces. They also glass art jewelry for the glass lovers!

Elliott Bay is a Pioneer Square fixture. (and includes the dreaded Pioneer square parking!) They have an incredible selection of books. It is a very large store with a funky layout that adds to its charm. They have a great children's area with a place to play and read. The magazine selection is wonderful - lots of art magazines. Downstairs is a book lined cafe with wonderful food. This is a must visit store.

I love the luxe style of this coffee house. It has over stuffed chairs, gilding and chandeliers. It is right on the main busy road to the freeway, but once you're inside it is very relaxing. The staff is a tad "hipper-than-thou" but so many baristas are these days. They do make a great latte with very nice foam, so someone is doing good training. The baked goods are pretty average.

There are many different Naturopath physicians to choose from here. It is also a teaching clinic so you can go that route and have an intern. My primary care provider is Dr. McClintock and she has been great. They also do acupuncture, chinese medicine and many other holistic options for health. The dispensary on the main floor is great. Parking is in back and can get a bit tight in the afternoons – so try for AM appointments.

It is getting hard to find an actual butcher these days. This is a classic butcher shop. They just moved to a big new store just next door to the original one. A great selection of meat. Very delicious turkey jerky too! I've purchased their big freezer packs, which is a pretty economical way to buy good quality meat. They are great at answering questions and helping with selections. The steaks are always tender. I haven't tried their smoked salmon, but it looks yummy. They have another store down in Des Moines too.

This is a music store for the young and hip. Since I'm no longer either, I generally am only in to buy concert tickets. I will say that this is where I go to buy gift certs. for teenage family members - always well received. They sell/buy new and used CDs. The cafe as a decent limited menu and good coffee. Great window displays and neon sign. Not to date myself, but when I WAS young & hip it was called Penny Lane and would buy my old albums so I’d have cash to go see bands downtown ;o)

Archie McPhee's is full of plastic fish, cel phone buddha, mexican wrestling masks and a million other odd items that you never even knew you needed. The new location in Ballard is huge. They have the main store and across the parking lot they have a store with the larger home decor items. You know, plastic hand chairs, jolly roger bathroom sets and fake trees. The catalog is much easier to take in - I find the actual store to be a sensory overload. Lots of great kitschy decor and gifts.
