My dryer recently stopped heating (faulty heating element). While hunting for a repair place, I came across the Appliance Pros of Tallahassee. It is a locally owned and family run business (which I like). They were quick to respond and prices were reasonable. There was a $45 "diagnosis fee," which was put toward the repair (if you don't choose to have them fix your appliance, you just have to pay the diagnosis fee). Very professional, answered questions, good experience.

My family moved to Tallahassee about a year ago. We have been all over town looking for somewhere to get my husband's hair cut. We were not satisfied until we found the Seminole Barber shop! We usually see Larry, but there is also another man there as well. They are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and still give the $9 haircut. They even have snacks and a few toys for kids (which is great because we have 2 boys who go with us).
The only thing that would take this place from great to perfect is if it were a little easier to get to. Since it is so close to campus, it is easy to get trapped on the one way streets. There is some parking out front.

Gordo's is a great place to go, but it's always packed when I go. I suppose if one went during a time other than lunch, it would be less crowded. The food is good, generally served quickly, and is very filling. I'm from Miami. When I miss home a little, I head over to Gordo's.
Don't sit outside when it's sunny... it gets really hot.

I called and got through immediately. Fiona was friendly, courteous and helpful. She made some suggestions about how to prepare for the appointment (mine was deep tissue although she can also do regular massage and some medical). The fees were reasonable considering it is deep tissue ($70/hr or $35/ 1/2 hr). More later after I go!

Tony's Quick Stop is one of the cheapest places to get gas in town aside from Sam's Club (usually they are pretty close in price). Tony's is usually $0.10 to $0.20 cheaper than anywhere else in town. But, the trick is you have to pay in cash. They charge for any sort of plastic use.
It's a little ghetto... make sure you go during the day.

It's a little bit hard to find the first time, but Black Dog is a really nice place to sit down and have a nice warm drink. They have plenty of coffee (I don't personally drink coffee or tea, and I still have plenty of choices left on the menu). There are some baked goods also available if you are hungry. They accept cash, but they don't accept plastic of any kind (you can always run to the ATM at Publix across the street if you forgot your cash).
There are tables and chairs both inside and outside the building. Even though there's not a lot of square footage inside, it is comfortable place to read or chat with friends as well as the bonus of avoiding the smokers (I personally don't smoke). If you're a smoker, the deck out back is ok to smoke on. Heck, the deck is great for everyone. It's a great place to watch the ducks or even the people who like to stroll around Lake Ella. Some dog walkers will even bring their pets up to enjoy the ambiance with them.
