There's virtually nothing bad to say about Mantrap Haircutters. The entire staff is very well-learned in their hairstyling abilities, and all members of the team are friendly beyond their call. I've only had good experiences with this business, and I recommend it to anyone in the area! Mantrap generally runs on the Northgate store schedule.

Thrift World of Durham is quite unlike any other thrift store I've been to. Aside from its large size, it carries more stock than other shops of its kind. Here the shopper will find rows among rows of gently used clothing, furniture, books (all of which are just 50 cents each), CDs, DVDs, VHS, dolls, plush animals, toys, houseware, shoes, and LPs (among lots of other things). Everything is extremely reasonably priced, and there's always a treasure to be found! In addition, there is a different sale every day of the week. I recently shopped on Ladies' Day, whereon all ladies' clothing and shoes are 50% off. I was in the market for a suit, and I found a brand new two piece suit in my size that ended up costing me only $4.50!! Hours for this amazing store are Mon-Fri 9am-7pm, Sat 9am-6pm, and Sun 12-5.

Pennies for Change is one of Durham's better thrift locations. Set up to benefit the Durham Crisis Response Center, the store is located across from the Tuba Exchange on Chapel Hill Road. Pennies for Change offers a variety of knick-knacks, books, gently-used clothing, jewelry, toys, houseware, framed prints and various decor, furniture, and a variety of other items. The shopper is sure to discover new stock upon each visit -- eclectic finds and thoughtful gifts for all! In addition to the great selection of brick-a-brack, the store has ongoing sales and clearances on a weekly basis (with an email update list to make sure the shopper is aware of upcoming events!). Pennies for Change is run by a volunteer staff, one that is very cheerful and always willing to help. The store is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5pm.
