If you are still looking, I wholeheartedly recommend The Paramount Hotel in Portland. Nice place to stay, close to downtown. Good value for the money.

I stayed at the Paramount Hotel for a business trip and would TOTALLY stay there again - on my own dime! I am a hotel snob, and for around $129 a night, this place rocked it out. They could charge $189 a night for this room and it would be a good value. Great, downtown location, and the Dragonfish restaurant is right down stairs. Edamame... yummy!

I went there a couple of years ago to meet a pal for lunch. Would definitely recommend this place for a fun meal. Bring friends!

The stores are small so it's usually crowded, but they really have great stuff for a good price.

Other than that, it is an amazing theatre, both visually and auditorially. The sound is brilliant; Lucasfilm certified (which is super hard to get) and the screen is magnificent. Whether you sit upstairs or down, you're stoked.

Cost Plus is such a great store - I think because it's out of the way (by the Pike Market and not part of my regular routine) I don't shop there as often as I might otherwise.

I always go there during the holidays to buy gifts for clients. If you need to put together a great gift basket, outfit your new kitchen inexpensively, or find interesting furniture and fixtures with lots of Asian influence, be sure to check out Cost Plus.

I don't drink coffee, but I do enjoy the tea at Top Pot. Not my favorite, but a nice treat once in a while.
The overall ambience of their stores makes me feel good too. Clean, funky and hipster. Plus if you need to get a box of doughnuts to go, you can easily call ahead and they will hook you up.

I admit, I am a snob when it comes to mani/pedis. I think I became that way because I know what "the best" looks like. If you are looking for a really good manicure or pedicure, go to Nail Center on First & Denny in Belltown. I have gone there for years and they are absolutely the best. Outstanding service and attention to detail at a great price ($25 for a manicure and spa pedicure).

We stayed at The Huntley 3 nights in May. Perhaps the most ideal location in Santa Monica. Just a few blocks from the 3rd Street Prom; a block from Ocean Ave, and a short walk to POP and Riot!.
We reserved an ocean view room and although we could see the ocean if we stood at the window, I was slightly disappointed based on the image on their Website.
Nevertheless, very chic, beautifully appointed hotel.
+ location, location, location!
+ beautifully appointed
- no swimming pool
- noisy (thin walls - too many door slams)

The Abbey in WEHO has great food and a great scene. The atmosphere is fun - they have private "mini-bungalo" seating and great staff. I heat Abbey.
