New York must be the mystery book store capitol of the world. This is another of the fine mystery/detective book shops open to New Yorkers. The selection here is vast and the staff are extremely knowlegeable. Between here and Murder Ink the whole world of modern and old school detective fiction are at at your fingertips. This store is a must visit if you have any interest in detective books.

Just an absolutely gorgeous store. They specialize in books about architecture and design and the books are stunning. Even if you have no plans to renovate your living space the shop is worth a visit and if you are planning on changing your house or building something from scratch then you should definitely drop by and take a look around. The store is laid out nicely and the staff are real pros who know alot about design.

This store occupies a whole 4 story building. They sell all sorts of rare and out of print books. They also sell some old autographs and have a really cool selection of old prints and maps. The maps are great to look at and aren't really that expensive when you consider you are buying something 100+ years old that looks great in a frame. I'm sure alot of the things on sale here can be purchased cheaper elsewhere but these guys are pros and can really help you get what you need.

These guys have been around for 20+ years. They sell used books and carry quite an eclectic selection. I've purchased a few nice art books here over the years. They seem to feel each book is special and therefore price the books a bit high. This is not the type of place where you are going to fill up a shopping bag for a few bucks on the other hand they are great at tracking obscure books down which in the days before eBay was an important skill for a used book seller to have.

A basement level shop filled with mystery books. Scanning the shelves you realize as a genre there is a lot produced on a regular basis. the staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly and the selection is top notch. Probably the second best mystery book store on the island of Manhattan just behind Murder Ink. They are also very helpful on the phone as I've called on more than one occasion trying to remember the title of a book from snippets of the plot and they were generous with there time.

Smallish and kind of ratty this place is a real throwback. Strangely enough half the store is comic books the other half is opera records. try to figure that match up. You'd be hard pressed to find a bargain here but from timt to time you find something interesting as they have a nice selection of vintage comics. A bit of cleaning and a new coat of paint would help to elevate this place to oh lets say 1985 standards.

It takes awhile to figure out the filing system but once you do you can locate virtually any out of print book. The staff takes itself a little to seriously which along with the general chaos in the store keeps it from getting a perfect score.

As my daughter squiggles about he calmly entertains her so that she is completely enraptured in what he is doing. He also has replaced a few old fillings for me and it went quite smoothly. They saw a niche and filled it admirably. This is a pharmacy for kids. You can get your meds flavored in cool flavors like bubble gum or grape. My son never would take medicine but once it was bubble gum flavored he was happy to take it. The pharmacist is a pleasure to deal with. They also carry some cleaning products for kids. An excellent place.
