We recently started soccer with our little one, which sounds crazy since he's only 18 months, but Arena Sports has a class for 18-24 month-old toddlers. The great thing for me is the class is on a Saturday so it's something a working parent can participate in (it seems as if all parent-child classes are during the work week).
You can pay for the full session or pay as you go, and the cost is the same. Also, the first class you can do for free as a trial, which we did. I was a bit concerned since my son is still a "new" walker, doing the penguin thing. But, he fit in just fine.
The class was 40 minutes long (perfect amount of time for this age group), and the "drills" were fun and tailored to the age group...and the coach was at ease which is good since they were definitely wandering toddlers beating to their own drum.
I think my son enjoyed the end the best, when the Coach blew bubbles for them to catch.
Parental advice: Have some coffee before you go because being around so many energetic toddlers at 9am will make you TIRED!

One day when I simply could not take my growing out foil any longer...I called Euphorium in desperation and took an "extended" lunch break....
At first I have to say I was a bit dismayed...I wanted to color my hair my "natural" color...a medium brown...my hair was BLACK. I was assured it would lighten up over time...and it has although I'm convinced that my hair is still darker than my "natural" color...but 4 months later and no roots? HMMM. Maybe I do have dark brown hair after all.
Anyhow, the stylist was great- chatty but not too chatty...and as for the haircut, I really feel like she listened to me as for what I was looking for.
I will definitely be going back.

I've passed this unassuming salon forever, as I pass on it on my almost daily walk while at work.
Then, they got smart. The sun came out...and so did a small sign, "Pedicures, $18".
WHAT?
So I signed myself up. Regularly pedis here run $30. This includes an hour of pampering...foot and leg massages, and the likes.
Not bad for $18. I will be back!!!!
They also offer hair cuts, and waxing services but haven't tried those.

Sadly, I used to go to the Burien one more often than I'd like to admit...and then I got pregnant. I walked in, and the smell of the fumes simply overwhelmed me and I haven't been back since.
Now, if you got a call for a date in 2 hours....just found out you're leaving for the Carribbean in 3 hrs...by all means, this place will get the job done.
Girlfriend in town, and you guys wanna go get a mani/pedi and gossip about old friends and ex-boyfriends? Then, go elsewhere, really.
REALLY really want a manicure and only have $10? Then belly on up to the manicurist's station...

Crafty or not, this is an *excellent* craft store. They have a zillion rubber stamps for all occassions and just enough supplies so even the less crafty among us can buy some supplies and feel accomplished.
The U-Village store is pretty small (unlike the Tukwila location)...but I think the stock is very similar.
Be careful or you will easily spend all of your $ here!!!!

Back when I was bridezilla :) and loved all things wedding...I would scour the aisles in search of cute wedding ideas.
This store offers all the fixin's for do-it-yourself craft types at really reasonable rates...
The problem was, that I discovered I am no Martha Stewart and therefore making my own invites was otu of the question...I ended up ordering my invites but added my own touches with paper products from this store.
They frequently have sales so if you subscribe to their list you'll get the emails.
This is the place to buy paper type products in bulk!

OMG- words along can not describe how cute, soft, and cuddly these fabulous newborn clothes are. They have a whole line of outfits, stuffed animals, blankets, bibs, and the like (bunny/garden themed). More of a gift item, or a going home outfit than daily wear... I mean when else would you spend $100 for cute soft little bunny shoes, bunny ear hat, and outfit??????
The "main" store is in LaConnor...but they sell there products in a variety of boutique stores through the Sound...so just call them to find out where.
I bought my son this blue bunny ear hat...which fit him for all of a day, but that's okay- b/c I got a picture of it :)
For baby #2 I'm totally splurging and buying his/her going home outfit from here, for sure!!!!!

However, if you need a mani/pedi in a jiff...or you're watching your budget- this is the place to go.
The salon itself is pretty big and rather airy- so no major toxic smells- which was a blessing when I was pregnant and convinced I would be poisoning my unborn child simply because I needed a mani/pani to feel better about my over-bloated self.
The prices are reasonable and they have a wide selection OPI nail polish, which is always a good thing...

This cute little shop on SW 152nd in Old Town Burien is truly a gem. It's a shop of things fancy- a great place to pamper a friend...or even yourself.
They sell bath & body products (which I've seen sold elsewhere, like in Portland!)...bedding, and general gift stuff.
Sure it's a little pricey but this is where you come to splurge!!!

A friend recommended this Vet to us, which we've been using for about 3 years now.
Personally I think it's on the pricey side, just for an office visit...plus it's convenient and the quality is good...so I haven't gone elsewhere, yet.
The biggest bonus is it's a 24-hr vet so if you have a middle of the night emergency you don't have to freak out about where in the Earth to bring your cat, sensing that Swedish probably wouldn't be a good idea...
They also do bording- sort term, if your furry friend is gettting something done- twice our one cat, who thinks he's a dog, has had a huge abscess...just as we're leaving town for the weekend...so we left him in their care...instead of roaming the streets of Burien....
So they are really great and helpful, just a little pricey.
