Being a twenty-something woman with an adventurous spirit toward my hair, I appreciate hip salons and hairstylists with a creative, modern eye for style. The problem is, these salons (and their personnel) tend to ooze attitude. The last thing I want to encounter when going in for a new style or a relaxing treatment is a staff of black-clad know-it-alls looking down their perfectly sculpted noses at me.
Luckily, I have discovered a salon that manages to be chic while maintaining a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Details Salon, on Cleveland Avenue in Highland Park, is a small, but airy salon sporting bright, modern furnishings, local art, and the latest in Aveda products. The stylists at Details are indeed good-looking and ultra-cool, but also accommodating, kind, and professional. Most importantly, the services are fantastic, and I've never left with a bad haircut!
