Jubilee has a great vision for what works for each customer. Although she is excited to do the latest and greatest for you, she respects the more conservative person (that's me). She really listens and then does what I ask her to do and that's what matters to me. She also is great with color which I think is a rare talent for a stylist. The salon is bright and comfortable. The salon is on California and I never have much trouble finding street parking, though my appointments are usually around 3:00-5:00. She isn't cheap but I'm always happy when I leave.

I had a haircut with Jenny, genius in residence at Level 4 Salon, this afternoon. I really can't say enough good things about level 4. All of the staff are very friendly, especially Jenny (who is instantly likable), and the atmosphere is entirely unprententious without some of the tension that I have felt at other salons. Every detail is taken care of to ensure that you are comfortable. My cut was excellent, well blended layers. Jenny really took care to ensure that the length was cut exactly how I like it. She also showed me a styling trick which will come in handy (after all these years, why didn't anyone else show me that?). I'm almost afraid to write this review because undoubtly there will be a day where Jenny has a waiting list.

The receptionist was so friendly - I went in one day when they were sold out, but I needed a haircut badly, so she booked me at her former salon down the street. She impressed me so much I returned to Berenice, only to walk out in disgust because of the attitude of the stylist. On a $65 haircut, she wanted to charge an extra $65 styling to blow my hair straight. She huffed and puffed and tutted so much that I told her not to bother.

I have always had problem skin (combination skin, dry patches, blemishes, large pores, you name it!) and had my first facial ever with Rezvan before my wedding. She is a caring and incredibly skilled woman. I have actually been insulted several times by people “trying to help” by stating the oh-so-many reasons why I need a facial. (I don’t know if this is some sort of trend, but I have been insulted by several professionals in an attempt, I believe, to pressure me into spending money. Please, if you are guilty of this, stop insulting your clients as a misguided way to garner business. It doesn't work, it will cause you to lose business, and it completely stresses out the recipient!) This was NOT the case with Rezvan. She is caring and has greatly improved my skin. I can not imagine a better environment for a spa treatment.

I first went to Teashi because I received a $10 coupon off a manicure and pedicure. I continue going without the coupon because it is such a relaxing, perfect nail experience. One note of warning: the nail specialists take a longer time and are more detail-oriented than at other nail salons - expect to spend an hour relaxing there!
Prices for basic nail services are roughly $5 more than bare bones nail salons -- a steal since you get high-end spa amenities. You can also indulge in Spa Deluxe treatments, which include mineral salt scrubs and extended massages, or specialized services, such as the Sports-relief Pedi. Health and safety are top priority here, and any tools that can't be properly sanitized in a surgical autoclave are yours to keep or discarded.

Walking in, it is like an oasis of calm and beauty in a hectic world. The venue is sumptous and beautiful with dark carved wood and incredible exotic drapery. I had the four-hands massage with Murray and G. You can't really concentrate on what both people are doing and have to just let go and relax into it..... And it sweeps you away. The two massuers were incredibly in-sync and their togetherness was so relaxing. The foot, abdomen, and face massages are not often done in regular massages and were soooooo good! I had a wonderful steam bath to finish which was the icing on the cake. Afterwards, wrapped in a fuzzy robe, sipping champagne in the relaxing tea room, I didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this experience, if you have a couple of hundred bucks to pamper yourself.

Just by walking trough Chinatown, you cannot help yourself but to stop and glance at this lovely jewelry store. At first it looks more like a gallery. Before entering you must stop to touch and rotate the Quartz Ball they have displayed outside, it gives you energy! But once entering the unique store, where lighting is great, you are imediately greeted by the nices and kindlyest people you have ever meet. You won't regret the stop, even if like me you just want to window shop they will allow you to feel at home and help you with anything you please. A must see with all of the natural geodes, all imported from brazil, just beautiful!

I have always found Buffalo Exchange to be a good value. Their prices are reasonable and the selection is good. Also, it's not too jam packed that you can't see what they have. I can usually find something funky and unusual without spending a fortune so I don't feel bad if it only gets worn once or twice--a good way to experiment!
Not quite a vintage boutique, not quite a thrift store: Chic clothes on these racks are the coolest castoffs around.

This consignment store has not only the most beautiful variety of clothes, but a gorgeous layout. I am a consignment junkie and had passed this place up, thinking it was a full-price boutique - that's how beautifully things are displayed. The owner has fabulous taste and has amassed endless racks of couture at extremely reasonable prices. My only complaint is that when I was there, it seemed that there were much more smaller (2 - 4) and larger (10 - 12) sizes of couture - us middle sized girls in the 6 - 8 range had probably picked through a little more. However, I still hit the motherlode on two gorgeous pieces. Beautiful shop - I highly recommend a visit.
