Sharon Zheng's is certainly one of the best Chinese restaurants around, and the best thing about it is it's a buffet! There are other good Chinese restaurants (Best Food in Town in Galloway and Mays Landing, for example), but I love being able to pick and choose from lots of different dishes. Sharon Zheng's has all your staples like General chicken, chicken and broccoli and wonton soup but they also have a lot more, like shrimp dumplings, sticky buns, spare ribs, frog legs, and my fravorite, cream cheese wontons! Those are the best things on Earth!
They also have made-to-order sushi which is nice, although I preferred the Mongolian barbecue that it replaced. Another reviewer mentioned that the bathrooms are not nice, which is true, but I can't say I've ever been to a Chinese restaurant that didn't have a dirty bathroom, so it's almost to be expected. All in all this is a great place if you love Chinese and you love buffets, and at only thirteen dollars for adults for the dinner buffet (less for children and at lunch) it's also a value.

I am by no means a rock climbing expert. I have only been climbing a few times, and only indoors. So my opinion is from a beginner's point of view, but it should still be valid for other beginners reading this. Although I am athletic enough, not being a rock climber myself I found going to a rock gym somewhat intimidating. All my fears were immediately washed away as soon as we got there though. My girlfriend and I took beginner's lessons (with a group of other beginner's we did not know) with a couple of very good instructors. On Friday and Sunday nights they have College Night, where college students get the beginner class including all rentals for ten dollars. They have the same deal on Saturday for ladies and all day Monday for service industry workers.
First, we had to fill out some forms and get our shoes and harnesses and all, and then we waited a bit while they assembled enough beginners for the class. The instructors were very friendly and learning the ropes (haha!) was easy. After the class ended my girlfriend and I continued to climb on our own for a good two hours. You need to go with a partner though (or you can have a group of three and take turns) because you need someone to belay for you. I couldn't believe how much fun it was, and it was much easier than I thought it would be. The only problem is the place is kind of out of the way, otherwise I would be there all the time. The RIRG has me hooked on climbing!

Roger Williams National Park is not at all what I think of when I think of a National Park. I guess that's why it's called a Memorial Park. The entire place is only 4.5 acres, and encompasses one small block in Providence's historic district. Most of the park is no different than any other city park, but the grounds do include a Visitor's Center and the site of the freshwater spring where Williams founded Providence. I did not find the well all that exciting; the Visitor's Center is definitely the highlight of the park. The park ranger is very knowledgeable and I found I learned a lot about Roger Williams and his importance to both Rhode Island and the entire nation. Chances are you will not spend more than an hour or two at the park, but that was not a disappointment to me at all since there is a lot more walking and beautiful history to be seen in the rest of historic Providence.

They may be a little bit conceited, but the name is definitely accurate! I take a lot of photographs in low-light settings and always had trouble finding developers who did not ruin my photographs until I went to Best Photo. This is a place where they really know their photography. Forget CVS, Target or Wal-Mart, they're no good. It is true that you will pay a little bit more than at the big places, but it is worth it. If you use film, you need to take it somewhere like Best Photo that knows what they're doing.
For all those who have moved on to digital, no need to worry, they do that too. And they even have a very nice website where you can upload your photographs. Since I don't shoot digital I have never done this, but I assume it would save you a lot of time and a trip to the store.
Best Photo also does all your other standard stuff you'd expect from a good store, like restorations, enlargements and Passport photos, and they even have a portrait studio.
The only thing I can say that could be considered a complaint is that the first time I went in the man seemed to be in a bad mood. After a couple of visits he warmed up though, to the point where he definitely knows my face and remembers the type of photographs I regularly take.

Mad City Cafe is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. I pass the place, which is located in a suburban neighborhood, every day and had been wanting to try it ever since it opened. When my girlfriend and I first went we thought we were out of luck, because the hostess asked for our reservation. She seemed slightly surprised when we told her we didn't have one, but she seated us almost immediately nonetheless. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the place is in stark contrast to the restaurant that previously occupied the location.
Instead of appetizers we had their version of French onion soup, which was absolutely amazing. The entrรฉe menu has salad, pizza, steak, chicken, fish and pasta options, every single one of which sounds unique. The pizzas are particularly interesting, like the Uptown, which has brie, artichoke and spinach. While salads and pizzas run around ten dollars or less, expect to spend between fifteen and twenty dollars for any other type of dish. The price is well worth it though, as the innovative creations on Mad City's menu are so well executed as to create a dining experience you will not soon forget.

Lincoln Woods State Park is a nice little oasis not too far from Providence. A decent portion of the park is taken up by Olney Pond, the name of which is slightly deceptive since the body of water is large enough that the park does allow boats. Canoes and the like are probably your best option though, as only boat motors under 10 horsepower are allowed, and even those are not allowed on weekends during the summer season.
Swimming and tanning on the beach are an even better way to enjoy the water at the park. Lincoln Woods boasts a very nice, sandy beach, something hard to find on the rocky shores of New England. Lifeguards are on patrol in season and there are showers and a concession stand only feet away. Elsewhere in the park there are almost 100 picnic sites available and plenty of space for hiking and biking. You may have a problem if you want to play a game of soccer or softball though, as the fields often seem to be occupied by local leagues.

It is my guess that George Street Camera stays open solely because of the student population at Rutgers, and mostly because of students taking photography classes. That means two things. First, they carry everything students may need for their classes, so you'll find film, cameras, accessories and developing equipment you'll need that you wouldn't be able to find at most other photography stores. But it also means that they have a captive audience, and can afford to charge slightly higher prices without fear of losing all their customers. So although George Street is a great store with great selection, if you can wait the time it will take for websites like B&H to ship your goods, you're better off buying online.

People who aren't from South Jersey never seem to believe me that Wawa is the greatest convenience store on Earth. They harbor the notion that all convenience stores are created equal. This is simply not true. Unlike other stores Wawa does not close, and you can get excellent coffee (or cappuccino or iced coffee or tons of other things) without paying an arm and a leg. Wawa also has a 24 hour deli so you can get great subs any time of the night. I'll admit they're not the best I've ever had, but they will put Subway in its place any day of the week. And the best part about Wawa: I can get cheap gas at any time of night! (So far as gas is cheap anywhere these days) Bottom line, I love this place, and have absolutely no complaints.

Or slightly less expensive very expensive textbooks, I should say. Brand new books at NJ Books are usually the same price you would find them at the University Bookstore, but the same is not true for used ones. NJ Books often sells its used books at a much lower price than the official bookstore, and they definitely have many more used copies. You can also find Rutgers imprinted goods like t-shirts, sweatshirts and shot glasses at more reasonable prices.
There are only two real problems with NJ Books. The first is that at the beginning and end of every semester the place is a zoo! I hate standing in line forever packed to the gills in that tiny store (that's why I wait a week or two to buy my books). The other problem is that you give them your schedule and they get you the books. This means you don't get to look at the books and pick them up yourself and all, and you have to trust that they do it right. Sometimes they'll have the wrong book listed or give you the wrong one for some reason. Once I bought seven or eight books for a class and didn't realize they hadn't given me one of the books until the middle of the semester. The point is, the place is inexpensive, but you have to be careful to make sure you get everything you need.

There's nothing special about Montello News. In truth, it's a small, somewhat dirty place that sells typical newsstand stuff like newspapers, magazines and candy. But it's still a good place to go sometimes if you live within walking distance. They have fax services if you need to send a fax, or you can pay your Bay State Gas bill there or buy BAT bus passes. The prices are normal and the people are friendly so there's no reason not to go in, unless you're used to nicer places.
