Sam and Jo. showed up early, which was pretty impressive

Sunday, May 13, 2007
I didn't have too much to move - a bed + frame, night stand, chair, big dresser, and 15 heavy boxes. All of it was pretty expensive so i was a little nervous. We were moving from my bedroom on the second floor of a house in brooklyn to an apartment in New York City on the 3rd floor - no elevator! So lots of heavy lifting up 3 flights of stairs. I was quoted a price between $200 and $400, no other fees included. The final price ended up being $350 - And, he was true to his word - no other fees. Sam and Jo. showed up early, which was pretty impressive! Before they started moving they offered two types of insurance should anything be damaged. One was free and I believed covered you for damage at .60 cents per pound up to some amount which i cannot remember. The other insurance cost ~$99 and covered for full damages up to some amount i cannot remember. i opted for free insurance even though I'm the anal type and totally wanted to pay the extra $99. I'm happy to say that all my furniture was moved smoothly. No damages and they were pretty quick. One problem is that i cannot figure out how to lock the wheels of my bed but i don't think that's their fault. I'm not sure they unlocked the wheels , anyway i wanted to thank this moving company who worked very hard for me , the movers are excellent , very polite and professional , thank you New york Movers .
