For one, it's free. Second, it's a wonderful place for a date, whether you are married and going on a date, or whether you are going on a first date. The work on display is lovely --- I enjoyed it, and I am no art aficionado. In fact, I was hesitant to go since I had this impression that all art museums are boring and stuffy --- not the case here! Highly recommend, a no brainer!

I really like Great America. It's easy to get to from most anywhere in Silicon Valley, the rides are a lot of fun, and the food prices are somewhat reasonable (better tham movie theaters, that's for sure). The weekends can get crowded, so the best time to go is on a weekday in the middle of the week -- which of course is tough if you are working. The park is not an in your face type of theme park, so it may be a bit mild for some. Overall, I like the variety of rides for all ages, the location, and the staff. Best theme park in the Bay Area that's for sure!

Sundeck is known all too well for where all the venture capitalists go for lunch (most go to Buck's in Woodside, it seems, for breakfast). The food selection is limited, but I give them a solid A grade for their salad selection. I can have the mandarin chicken salad every day of the week. You can get food quickly for takeout, or you can sit down without any wait. The only reason I didn't give Sundeck a perfect 5 stars is that their vegetarian sandwich is quite unpleasant. But the rest of the selection, and the VERY friendly staff make it a nice place for lunch --- especially if you work on Sand Hill Road!

Hobby World is awesome. Walking in is like being a kid again. All sorts of hobby related things, from baseball cards to mini race cars to games that kids like such as Pokemon. This place is ENORMOUS and has the widest selection I have seen. Their sports memorabilia section is pretty weak, but that is mostly because so much sports memorabilia collecting has shifted to eBay and the web that it's not worth their time. The staff is friendly and most of them know their stuff. If you are a parent, your kid will love you for letting them play for an hour in this store.

Elephant Bar reminds me a lot of Claim Jumper in Southern California --- wide selection of food, HUGE portions, 20 minute wait to be seated. I highly recommend their coconut shrimp, and my veggie friend really liked the veggie burger with guacamole. The service is excellent considering how many people show up and how much food needs to be carted all over the place. The desserts ate spectacular, although I cannot imagine sharing them with fewer than 4 people. The drink selection is solid as well, nothing original or creative though. If you want a good meal, lots of food, with low wallet impact, this is a great place.

Miyake is the best Japanese in town. For lunch, get the #5 bento --- Miso soup, salad, rice, teriyaki chicken, 4 piece california roll, veggie and shrimp tempura. Well under 10 bucks. INCLUDING tax and tip!!! That's right. Downright incredible deal. The food is delicious and the waiters are OK (not bad enough to knock this down to 4 stars for me!). LOVE the huge sushi selection and the sushi bar there too. I have never been here for dinner but I assume it is as good as for lunch with the prices only a bit higher. Still very easy to eat for under $15, no question. I wish my office was closer to Miyake so I could go at least once a week! You will NOT regret going here for lunch, promise!!

Baja Fresh lives up to its name. This one in Sunnyvale does at least! Nice staff, incredible food (more on that in a second), and fast service. The key is the food and the price. It's incredibly affordable and at least 50 times better than other affordable Mexican (Taco Bell). The meats are fresh and savory, the tortillas are warm and fresh, and the selection is vast and comprehensive. I really wonder if it's worth going anywhere else. Cannot say enough good things about this place!

I love this theater. Very conveniently located, with great food and ice cream and stores nearby. They always have a nice selection of movies, give a student discount at all times, and I have always found the place to be very clean. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are pretty clean as well. Comfortable seats too!! All in all one of the best.

I have been here once and would go back more if I could afford to go here more often! Really great setting, very hip and trendy, yet you dont feel intimidated or awkward going here. The stylists are all great, and while I am not one to care TOO much (I'm only about 30% metro after all), even the average straight guy will be able to get past his reservations and feel like he is getting the royal treatment here!

Amber is good not great. As an Indian male, I am pretty picky about Indian food so take that into consideration. The food is good (7 out of 10), the service is bad (4 out of 10). I must admit that the selection of both North and South Indian is solid. However, I just don't feel that it has a good enough ambiance, and for all the hype that it gets as being the best, I don't think it lives up. Nice place to go here and there, but don't make this your monthyl special dining out destination.
