Russo’s is one of the best places in town to get fruits and veggies, as well as fresh cheeses, breads, and olives. It is a HUGE warehouse of produce, and full of things from every corner of the globe. Have you been searching for bitter melon or yucca? You can find them here! Their olive selection is phenomenal and they have a vast array of other goodies.
The produce is incredibly fresh and really very inexpensive. Red peppers are occasionally on sale for less than half what you’d spend a chain store.
While it is somewhat of a long drive from where I live, it is worth the trek every time. They have some really hard to find items and always have helpful and knowledgeable staff.

The Milky Way Lounge is one of my favorite bars in Jamaica Plain. It is one of the few places where children over a certain age are welcome, and there is a great feel to the place. They have a few lanes of candlepin bowling, which is fun for everyone, numerous arcade games, and other fun things. They often have special nights (karaoke, salsa dancing) and special events. As a single mom, once in a while I want to have a glass of beer and bowl and not have to worry about a sitter! This place is just great!

Artist and Craftsman is one of my favorite art supply stores in Central Square. The staff is very, very friendly and the selection of supplies is great. It has almost everything I need for my needs. Their carving (rubber and linoleum) section is quite good, and they have a small but nice selection of rubberstamping supplies. It's a fairly large store, and I enjoy going there.

Harvest is a great store for both health food basics and special treats. It is a nice, small alternative to bigger, more corporate health food stores.
They feature a great produce section, nice little deli, fresh cheeses, and a decent beer and wine selection. They also have staple food (pasta, cereal, etc.) and a nice health and beauty section.
The store is very clean, and the staff is usually quite nice and helpful. It's a great little store.

While I have not gone to Leeba for many of their services, I do get waxing and eyebrow shaping done there. I have always found the staff to be completely professional, quite nice, and thorough in their work. The spa itself is spotless and looks well kept up.
Their prices are average, maybe a little on the pricey side, but worth it for the quality of service. I've never been disappointed. The eyebrow threading is fantastic! You don't have to worry about a lot of plucking or hot wax, and the staff who I have had do my brows have always done a great job!
The offer a very wide selection of services, and have a website which is located at http://www.leebasalon.com .

Federal Wine and Spirits is hands down my favorite wine store in Boston. The staff are friendly and boy, do they know their wine, beer and spirits. They are always willing to help with recommendations, and really know their stuff. They have a fairly large selection of wine, much of it in the cellar downstairs. They often get really special wines and beers, some of which are far outside my price range.
They have tastings every week. Usually the tastings are of wine, but they occasionally have beer and spirits tastings too. Every week they also put out a newsletter, which is filled with great info about their weekly specials, as well as general wine information. The store is small, but well stocked and you can find some really obscure beers here!

The store is fairly clean and sort of warehousing feeling. The staff are friendly enough but not always the most knowledgeable about wine. My favorite part though is the fairly regular beer tastings by vendors.
It's a good basic store. If you're looking for anything too obscure you may want to visit a different store, but for basics it is fine.

The windows are decorated nicely with those great paper star lamps, and are always fun to look at. I just love this store and their eclectic mix of fun things!

Wonder Spice Café is one of the only Thai restaurants that I will eat at! I have a general distrust of Thai, as the fish sauce makes me ill. But Wonder Spice is truly vegetarian friendly, and the food is great. It’s a mix of Vietnamese, Cambodian, Thai and more, and there is something to please nearly everyone on the menu.
The service is great and the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. They do takeout, so when it is too crowded you can always get take away. The food is delicious and nicely presented.

One of my favorite places to go during lunch break is Sultan’s Kitchen Express. Yum. They serve Turkish and Middle Eastern food that is freshly made, delicious and very vegetarian friendly. It gets packed by noon, but the line moves quickly and you are in and out before you know it.
Among my favorites is the borek, a crispy phyllo dough stuffed with spiced eggplant and veggies. This, along with the yogurt garlic sauce, is a tasty treat for under $5. Many of their full sized meals are on the pricey side, but you can order a side of just about anything for under $5. The stuffed grape leaves are just super!
There is seating, though it is often all used up. It’s a very clean place, and the kitchen is central to it all, so you can see how clean it is. Two thumbs up for Sultan’s Kitchen!
