From the outside and the decor on the inside, this place strikes you as a 50's diner. However, the name and the menu tell you otherwise. The menu is huge and offers Greek, Italian, Jewish, American...and I'm sure there are other foods that I am forgetting. I had the fettuccini, and the portion was so large that it lasted me about four meals! Great food in a casual setting---a great place to bring a bunch of your friends. Don't come here expecting a quiet meal though! :)

I recently moved to Middletown for grad school, and many of the students in my classes recommended Jerry's when I asked about a good local pizza place. I thought it was terrible, and couldn't even eat half of a piece. The crust has a strange sweet taste to it (which I'm told is a Connecticut thing, and the only other people I've met that understand what I mean by the 'sweet' taste are people who are from the midwest, or the west coast like myself). Luckily it was ordered for a departmental event at school and I didn't waste my money on it. I have yet to find any good pizza here in Middletown...

I had the salmon sampler, which was a nice way to taste the different flavours of the different types of salmon. Our seat was on the edge of the restaurant looking over the water. The food is a bit pricey, but it's a nice place to bring a date (if you sit by the window) or perhaps out-of-town guests to give them a taste (and view) of Seattle.

This is the only place I've seen that serves tandoori salmon, and it is my favourite dish on the menu. Since it's within walking distance of UW it's often packed for lunch, so try to come during the off-hours to avoid a long wait for seating and your food. But if you have to come during these peak times, it's definitely worth the wait.

I lived in Ballard for over a year before I finally made my way to The Lockspot, after everyone told me how great it was. I had the fish and chips and was thoroughly disappointed...it was somewhat pricey and wasn't very good. The jalapeno poppers were great though. If you want great fish and chips I recomment heading across the street to Totem Fish & Chips---the portions are larger and cheaper for what you get, and they have great milkshakes too!

Soprano's always seemed to deliver in about half an hour, with the pizza piping hot and gooey for your eating pleasure. While the pasta dishes aren't really anything special, the portions are big and they come with soup or salad and are very inexpensive for what you get. Recommended if you are looking for delivery pizza in Ballard.

My family visited the Italian Spaghetti House nearly every time we went to visit my grandparents who lived nearby. As another reviewer said, the portions are huge and the full dinner come with bread, soup, salad, the entree, and spumoni (or ice cream if you prefer), so you will definitely fill up here. I usually have lunch for a couple of days with the leftovers. Not sure why one of the other reviewers thought it wasn't vegetarian friendly---I'm vegetarian and there were always multiple things on the menu that I had to choose from, and I've never received a salad with meat on it...and the servers have always been friendly. The only time anything happened was when a waitress tripped and dropped some spaghetti on my sister, and for that all four of us received our meals for free.

Bento Sushi may not look trendy like so many of Seattle's newer sushi bars, but this place is great! They have a wide variety of menu options, extending beyond their sushi fare. My father even loved their food, and he's the kind of person who's afraid to try new things. If you like spicy, their Ichi Roll is a must!
