Movies 8 is run by Cinemark, offering the hit movies just after their big runs on the main screens elsewhere. Tuesdays are especially discounted, with movies costing just $0.50 all day long. Other than on Tuesdays, movies cost from $1.00 before 6:00pm, to $1.50 after 6:00pm. There is also a Kiddie combo popcorn box with 12 oz. drink offered for just $1.50...so...if you're looking to watch a movie slightly after its debut, and you're not willing to pay the "big bucks", head to Lewisville and Movies 8!

Nationally noted stars are often seen in exhibition skating, but more often than not, you'll see public skating, or lessons taking place. At Christmas, a several-stories-tall Christmas tree is planted firmly in the center, enhancing the ambience of the rink and surrounding areas. Skates are available for rental.

Appropriate for children and adults alike, there are also kiddie rides for the smaller set. Reservations may be made for birthday parties, or church youth group outings, all for $1.00 per person. Mr. Franco is an easy agent to work with. He is Hispanic, so Spanish-speaking clients as well as Anglophiles will be at ease in his office. Most of his staff worked for the gentleman that worked there previously (he retired), so they're very knowledgeable when it comes to your insurance needs. We have our home and auto policies with State Farm through him; not sure if he sells other companies' policies or not.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Sam Moon! This successful businessman began in 1984 and there's been no stopping him since then. This particular location is on the NE corner of I-35E and I-635 in Dallas. There's lots of parking, but there are usually LOTS PARKING....meaning they are busy all of the time! Belts; purses of all shapes, sizes and materials; endless earrings, bracelets, necklaces, tiaras, etc., the list goes on and on. Prices are VERY reasonable and your $30 minimum is easy to fill, especially if you go with a few friends. Check out his website as well....www.sammoon.com There are 2 locations in this area (one close to Stonebriar Mall in Frisco), and I saw that they're going to be opening one in The Woodlands, close to Houston, in the near future, as well.

What a find! Clothing that is classic, yet unique, and for such great prices! Somehow I had completely missed this fine store in my trips to the mall, but no more! What I found in my latest shopping trip was a staff eager to help (when I needed them to), plus a fantastic supply of reasonably-priced separates for women, not to mention the out-of-this-world sales racks just waiting to be perused. There are many locations in the Dallas area, including Valley View Mall, Vista Ridge Mall, and their newest store at the Firewheel Town Center in Garland.

Seriously, if you are ever close to Brenham or Independence, Texas....or if you love roses, especially antique or hard-to-find roses, you MUST visit this garden! Many of the roses available are "found" roses; "found" in the sense that they were discovered at abandoned homesteads, or in vacant lots of older homes, down country roads, etc. These survivor roses come from extremely hardy stock which the Rose Emporium has propagated and has for sale to the public. In addition to their roses, they also offer lovely displays of herb gardens, cottage gardens, and displays of how roses may be used. Plan your trip today; you won't be disappointed!

Many people do not realize it, but Dallas has a large Asian population. And, to serve the needs of the growing Korean community....enter Komart! My husband found this grocery store, and we just had to visit. Although most of their clientele is Asian, we found the people helpful when we needed it. You will find many, many jars of the specialty kimchi, many sorts of sesame oil, of rice, of seasonings, vegetables, etc., etc. They also sell hard goods such as washing machines. And, there is a cafe in the grocery store where, for a flat $5.00, you can point to a picture menu of many different meals. We were glad we tried it!
