In Atlanta, if you want Birks (Birkenstocks), you "have" to go to Abbadabbas. They are a really "cool" store stocking all of the different sandals. The sales staff are very friendly and try to pair you with the appropriate sandal. They stand behind their product as well. Last year, I had to make an exchange and they were very nice about it and helped me select a suitable replacement.

They have always provided me with prompt and reliable service for the past 5 years whenever I have had problems with my air conditioning or heat. I have also been happy with their routine annual service calls. They have shown up as scheduled and have been thorough and reliable.

Cut Zoo is my place of choice for an affordable quick haircut. They are slightly on the avant garde side. I would advise selecting a stylist as sometimes their "available" cutters are not of the best quality. Now that I have a requested stylist, I have found Cut Zoo to keep my appearances looking nice at a great price (about $10).

The Borders Books in Buckhead is definitely a great place to find your books. Whether you want to leisurely browse different titles or see what is new in fiction, Borders has what you want. The location is close to both Lenox and Phipps Malls but is in a smaller shopping center so that it is easy to get to. There is also a nice cafe inside to get a caffeine buzz while you are shopping.

My favorite theater in Atlanta for going to the movies is the Regal at Perimeter. Its not as large as some of the other Regal locations so it doesn't have quite the mobbed scene. There is a nice Starbucks in front where you can have a drink before or after the movies. While sometimes on the weekends, the teenagers take over the area out front; overall it is a much more sane experience than the Regal Hollywood 24.

If you are looking for a specialty title or need help from a salesclerk on finding a certain act, I would recommend going to the Tower Records in Atlanta next to the "disco Kroger" in Buckhead. Whenever I go there I feel like I am truly looking for music instead of just some top hit act like you could find at any mall in the area. The salesclerks are knowledgeable and helpful and the clientele seems much more with it and trendy than the very suburban area surrounding the store. If they don't have it in stock, they are only too happy to order it in for you.
