Face it, it's tough to find an auto mechanic you can really trust. But I've been to Clay Chevy/Hyundai on many occasions with my Hyundai and they have consistantly met and exceeded my expectations....
Face it, it's tough to find an auto mechanic you can really trust. But I've been to Clay Chevy/Hyundai on many occasions with my Hyundai and they have consistantly met and exceeded my expectations. Their convenient location in Newton Corner is easily accessible (right off the Mass Pike), and the service department is wonderful. Personally, I know very little about cars, so it was really great that the mechanic took the time to call me and throughly explain everything to me, and then show me everything after the repair was complete. In the past, I have felt ripped off by mechanics, but I know at Clay Chevy/Hyundai, that I'll always be taken care of.

Sato restaurant stands apart from other Asian restaurants by their incredibly friendly service. The manager will go out of his way to make sure that everyone is taken care of, even rushing over to the door to wish all diners a pleasant evening on their way out.
Portions are large, and spicy dishes are not overly spicy. Drinks are a little too strong. The dining room is rather small (one table is basically right in the entranceway) so ask for a table in the back. All in all a very good dining experience.

Valvoline instant oil change seemed like a convenient place to get my oil changed, but I was greatly mistaken. I waited a half hour to be acknowledged by the staff (there was no one else there either) and then the mechanics were very rude when I refused to buy into any of the "extras" that were offered. No one explained what was going on, and they would not listen to a word I said. Not to mention that their oil changes are a lot more expensive than any gas station I've gone to in the past. Definitely not worth the aggravation!

Al Dente is a tiny, hole-in-the-wall restaurant that you would probably miss if you weren't looking forward to it. I ate there for my boyfriend's birthday and was delighted with the service. Before we even got in the door we were greeted warmly and then promptly seated. I ordered a chicken milanese, he had a chicken parm, and both came out very quickly and were wonderful. The portions were huge and we both left with quite a bit of leftovers. The waitress was very attentive to our needs, especially the 'sometimes difficult to cater to' food allergies that my boyfriend has. Definitely a North End jewel worth checking out!
