My first time to Bowie I was in a state. I hadn't had my hair done in months and was feeling pretty shabby. I definitely felt like a "before". Then Deven got her hands on my hair. She rules. She talked about my eye color and how to flatter my bone structure - it was so much fun. I walked out of there looking better than I expected. I love it. I look like the "after". Deven's the best.

I've always been curious about Eastern medicine and have tried acupunture and herbology with success in both areas. I went to Nancy (Dr. Nancy Roberts) with some very specific issues and she offered to either treat my symptoms or to analyze my hair! The hair analysis gives you a complete health history, basically, so that you can be aware of how everything is working and then proceed with all the information. Nancy is so cool, easy to talk to and she likes to hug which makes her the best.

Ignore the fact that this restaurant is in a parking lot. Really. It's beautiful inside with very nice finishes. The food is amazing! This is one of the best restaurants in town, by far. Make sure you get the platters so you can wrap your own fresh rolls, the special drinks - like the kumquat martini - are awesome. Make sure you have dessert too, banana cake!

This place is the coolest. It offers a good redux selection of furniture, art, lighting and accessories in the "modern organic" vein. They have a fabulous website that shows you the rest of everything they have - including outdoor, bedding, rugs, etc. They are really nice and laid back when you go into the store which I like but keep in mind, what you see there is just a sampling of what they make available. Also, they have art shows from time to time so get on their mailing list so you can see the art collections in person.

This place used to be so good! It was always busy and the butternut aquash ravioli was super. Well, I guess they decided that their bar business was more important than their food. They remodeled the restaurant to expand the bar, now it feels more like a bar that serves food too. Also, they changed their menu so dramatically that it's nothing like what it used to be. I love having great food in fabulous places and I love having great food in crappy places, but if the food's no good...Why would you go? Don't.

I always love going to Lark. I love everything about it. Almost. I love the service, the drinks are perfect, the food is incredible, the room is beautiful. Everything is so great, except it's a pain in the neck to park. The only thing I can remember when I'm leaving is whatever I just ate so that I can order it again next time. The walk to the car gives me more time to think about why I don't go more often.
