Recently EStone performed a counter installation for us of a custom marble countertop. The experience was not a good one.
They caused about $500 worth of damage during the installation process to the floor by dragging the fridge along it without any padding.
Initially they said that our sink would not fit in the cabinet, despite it being correctly sized for the cabinet.
We had to get the owner out to show him that it would fit.
When they drilled a hole for the faucet, they made it too big and now the faucet is coming loose.
Pricing was high for a simple job and the stone was not sealed adequately - it is starting to stain from normally non staining items.
Caulking was poorly done and it appears they have used the incorrect color caulk. (white not clear)
So far the experience has not been a good one. We are trying to meet with them one more time before deciding on follow up actions.

We used Dovetails custom cabinet shop to build our kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. They produced great cabinetry within the timeframe specified, Prices can be high but are cheaper than contempory modular cabinetry (arc linea etc) for similar levels of finish in real wood or veneered custom cabinetry.
Attention to detail on design is great - down to matching directions of grain etc.

Metropolitan markets have a great selection of fresh produce, meats and groceries. Often they bring in one of a kind seasonal items - copper river salmon, wild mushrooms, charentais melons etc but prices can be high.
Occasionally they have good value priced lines but there seems to be a deliberate policy to switch customers to higher priced lines -for example they dropped carrying much of the lavazza espresso line in favor of other higher priced lines. Net effect is that prices are comparable to whole foods.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their product lines for the most part.

Purchased appliances for two kitchen remodels with Albert Lee over an 8 year period and never had a problem with them. We have also purchased appliances with other retailers around Seattle - both big box, and small retailer and would recommend Albert Lee over any of the others.

Another fixture store that will not give prices directly to customer. You have to buy through contractor or designer. So while the service may be great for contractor or designer, its pretty poor...

Nickel and dime'ing on shipping costs etc make competitive prices quite a bit higher than online. Many of the disadvantages of online as most items are not stocked and they pass on substantial shipping costs to the customer. In fact shipping costs for a bricks and mortar store are higher than for many online fixture stores (eg Ira Woods)
Overall good fixture supply store - but high prices and all the faults of an online store.

This review is based on working with their cabinet makers not their GC business. Out of about 10 cabinet makers we met around Seattle, these guys stick out as providing the best quality and higher end cabinetry designs at good prices for the quality level.
They're not going to be comparable in pricing to Lowes, Home Depot etc., but if you are considering HenryBuilt, Poggenpohl, ArcLinea, Bulthaup etc., then you may find they can do as good or better with more individuality, better choices of woods with much better value for money.

This great store provides a good selection of electrical supplies, lighting products such as can lights and some home networking products (mainly cat 5e) at great prices.
Prices of many items as or better than online pricing without the delays in shipping.
Staff are friendly and very helpful in a no nonsense sort of way.
For some purchases or to get the best possible pricing, you may need to set up an account with them but if you are in the business or undertaking a major diy project it is worth looking into.

When trying to buy fixtures for our remodel - we looked at best plumbing on Stoneway for both fixture purchase and full house replacement of plumbing lines.
The fixture department refused to even quote us unless we paid a design fee ( despite the fact we were not getting them to do a design).
Eventually we choose a different retailer and plumbing installation company.
