Want to hear a great story? Harrison ave used to be an area that you would not want to drive through. It was urban blightsville only with a huge amount of crime tossed in for good measure.
Along comes a guy named Mario who 20 years ago buys all of it and envisions a funky area of shops, restaurants and condos. 20 years later, it is a reality. First it was Washington street and now Harrison ave.
Rocca is the first restaurant. The second, Gaslight, will open in July/August with the same funky type of theme.
First, Rocca is gorgeous. The whole building is newly rehabbed. The bar is downstairs with the main dining area upstairs. The menu is light Italian with Tastes or small appetizers. Of course, there is appetizers or "bigger than tastes" as they are now known, a pasta section and an entree section as well
I had the minestrone, which was excellent, a taste of pizza and zucchini...They were equally worthy....
The pasta was interesting as it was green bean, pesto and potato...Haven't had pasta in awhile as it has been in my dietary doghouse ...The pasta once again was very good, and I did not leave there incredibly full , but placated...at least for the moment
Up in coming restaurant....Up in coming area

To me, there is nothing as healthy, yet terrifying as yoga. I can run, play racket sports and lift weights...Yet, yoga is my exercise nemesis
Sadhana is a new breed of yoga studios that combine fast stretching combos with heat, so you sweat like a goat herder in the desert. It also allows for maximum stretch.
As I wrote for Baptiste, hang on for the first 45-50 minutes and you will probably make it
Actual conversation between Glen the teacher and myself:
Glenn: Come on man finish strong
Me: Glen, I have nothing left
So sad yet so true

2 am, that is a hour not seen in these parts unless you are buying cold tea in Chinatown.
It also caters to the old, yet not geezer crowd of 30s to 40s.

Lotus Garden is the best place to buy flowers in this city. The bouquets are absolutely snesational. They ask how much are you spending...I say $80-$100 and I walk out with an unbelievable arrangement of multi-colored flowers that just wow the recipient...
There is, however, a process...Plan on being ignored or unacknowledged for about 5 minutes...Its a given
So just stop by the place five minutes earlier, because it is definitely worth the wait

Lets face it...I was due for an incredibly bad experience. I am forgiving of mistakes..Those without sin, cast the first stone as it were. It happens sometimes..and very really are people deliberately callous or uncaring
This is the sequence of events unedited and unexagerrated(is there such a word?):
I booked a flight to Toronto, but I booked it on the wrong date...Two weeks later..Mea culpa...I was wrong.
Now the airline has a choice. They have capacity. Are they going to be reasonable(like Southwest, BTW) or are they going to take advantage and maximize the transaction. To put it mildly, American chose the latter charging me another $750 to change the ticket...That's $1250 to fly to Toronto...Nice
Now because I had to change the ticket on that day, I was then massively screened by the security. The guy emphasized...After all, it was the code on the ticket that I JUST purchased
So we are finally on the plane and everyone is just seated....Then they announce that we have to deplane(there is no such word, really) , because of weather. Lets be fair, it was windy in Toronto, but they could not communicate that until we are on the plane?
Look I do not want to start a boycott against American, but bad stuff does happen more frequently with companies that lack direction
At least, they did not lose my bag....

27 transactions without an issue. Thats pretty incredible
On the other hand, the conversation seems to revolve around Madonna and clothes.....Not much to offer a hockey fan like myself, but a great place

I should be recused from reviewing the Capital Grille or any other steak house....After all, I do not even like steak. Everyone else seems to love steak, it must be the health food of the new millennium(7 years removed). I do eat fish, however and thus I am qualified to review that 15% of the menu.
First, the bread is always great. Pumpernickel with raisins...Fantastic. The sides, any sides, are always good.
The fish, however, can be great or terrible depending on the day. You can have great experience or enjoy a meal of sides and bread.
Of course, in a similar yet disturbing refrain, everyone else enjoys their steaks

I must be the biggest contrarian blogging restaurants today. I almost want to rate Sorellina two stars, but I am afraid of being lynched.
First the good stuff: Sorellina is a beautiful place in the heart of Copley square. The service was excellent, and the truffle fries were fantastic.
Now the rest. First, I eat at restaurants with a friend once a month. We take turns as to who pays. Luckily, it was his night. Now, I have no issue with premium prices as long as the establishment delivers on its promise. However, the four scallops(for $35) were overdone and really were not all that tasty...even if they were cooked properly. The bean salad at $18 was just average...
As I have written in other reviews, everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals.... Once again, I just don't get it"

I love Whole Foods...Always have. I lived in Brookline and shopped at the one in Brighton. Now I live in the South End and walk to the one near Symphony.
Maybe my affection emanates from the deep seated feeling that what I have been eating at other places will be removed in my arteries one day. Then again, perhaps it is the array of healthy food that intrigues me. Even the chips seem healthy(I wish).
There is something also to be said for a company that cares about their employees, offers good service and has a selection of product that won't kill you....even if you have to pay a little more" Friend Quick Search

I moved out of Brookline three years ago, and this place was a staple of mine. First, I honestly believe the place was cursed. The space had about 4 tenants in about three years. First it was a pudding place(yes pudding, then Jeras Juice, which was actually good. Then Jeras juice merged with a burrito place, which was not so good.
Paris Creperie works on a single premise. Do you like the crepe? The pastry like substance that is basis of its only real offering. If the answer is yes, then you will love this place, because you can fill it with almost anything.
My favorite is olive, caper, goat cheese, chicken and sun dried tomato. It is very tasty, but you can choose a crepe that fits your particular taste.
It is tres different than its burrito, hamburger, veggie burger, french fry, pizza, and sub sandwich options
