have been a dues paying member of this gym for 3 years. Unfortunately, I also enjoy playing racquetball which this club does not have. When I tried to cancel my membership on August 15, 2007, they would not stop the payments until the end of September.
Is it me or is this a tad unfair?
The gym itself is ok, but it is stangely vibeless. Maybe, working out is not a joyful endeavor, but can somebody please smile or even say hello

"I had to try and then review this place. It has either detractors or disciples with very little in between. The Other Side Cafe is quite literally the other side of Newbury street. Mass ave seems to split the chic and the cheap with the OSC(as I will now call it) on the cheaper side next to a futon place.
OSC has about 15 tables of all sorts outside with about 30 tables inside on 2 levels. My first impression is that this place belongs in Berkley California. Then again I like Berkley. I sat at the bar, which has another 8 stools. The tunes were a bit loud, but they were playing Queen, A night at The Opera. I had this album once back when I was hip(way back).
The problem was: I ordered my veggie Burrito and smoothie during the song "get down make love" and did not get served until "We are the champions", which is near the end of the album, sorry CD, sorry again MP3(at least I did not say 8 track). They seem a bit disorganized, but in a pleasant type of non confrontational way. Truth is, I had the time, and it was fun to watch.
The upside is: I hate to say this, but it was the best veggie chili of my not so young life...and the smoothie was very good as it was made with real fruit, not syrup like at most places. The place is original, and there are very few places like this anywhere.
To prove that I can be objective when I am not intolerant, I actually went 2 more times. It was the same great food, but with better service.
It was not the peak lunch period or perhaps with these guys, the stars were aligned or the moon was in Gemini.
Astrology aside, truly a noteworthy place"

A simple purchase as cargo shorts can become an instant dilemma. Either they are $29 and built for a season or a wash(whichever comes first) or you have to fork over a ton of dough in the Prudential mall.
North Face is a compromise of quality clothing at a decent price. The store is actually at the end of Newbury and has a wide selection of athletic to casual apparel

It seems like the best chains start with Q. Quiznos and Qdoba to be exact. Look ,if you want authentic Tex Mex with three guys playing the banjo and singing cucaracha, this probably is not the place.
However, if you are looking for a healthy alternative in the the Pru, try the naked burrito with some hot sauce for zip. Its really a 6 on the Richter scale of edibility
Then you can say: That Esteban, he is not so loco
My spellcheck must be going nuts

Four words to consider: Buy it on Sale
Neimans is a curious place. They only accept their store charge and Amex, an interesting combo since most people have MasterCard and Visa. Amex is also the most expensive card to process, but whatever
They actually have a fairly decent men's department IF you have a ton of discretionary income OR you buy it on sale. Amazingly, they have a wonderful selection of vintage clothing, an unusual item in such an upscale place
The 4 stars should really be 3.5, but the service pushes them over the edge

The following is a completely true story.
First, I am incredibly understanding of bad service as long as the company at least tries to rectify the situation. After all, in any service business problems do happen....
Here is my story with Delta.
I was flying from Venice to New York with a connection to Boston. The plane leaving Venice was inexplicably 3 hours late. Of course, this is the start of the chain reaction as now I predictably miss my connection.
No problem...There is another flight 2 hours later at 6:30, which was updated due to "weather" no less than 10 times, so we are finally on the plane at 10:15
Two more problems occur:
We are somehow overweight on a plane this plane. We are asked for volunteers, who will receive a voucher. 3 people volunteer, they are stand bys, who by some policy are not entitled to the aforementioned hotel. So after a battle, they return to their seats.
We are then told that some of the bags will not arrive due to the weight. We were asked our thoughts as if we knew something about aeronautics
Second problem is the stewardess was not supposed to be on the flight and guess what: She would not be paid. After trying to reach her supervisor, she to her credit stays on the plane.
I guess it should be mentioned that we are 30Th in line, and the plane finally takes off at 12:30 and lands 37 minutes later after 9 hours of delays in two cities, I am in Boston at 1:15.
Funny, I did not notice any rain in New York or Boston. I have often wondered how planes fly into London, Seattle or Vancouver as these places actually have rain fairly regularly. The stewardess said that Delta was having problems finding planes. Evidently she did not see the Delta party line for the evening
So after another 30 minutes of watching the same bags go around the same carousel, I go to the lost luggage department. Guess what, the poor girl is called by her supervisor who wants her to work after her shift just ended.
My luggage is in the clutches of Deputy Delivery, whose service actually infuriated me enough to start blogging(my first review)
As ridiculous as this seems, this experience is only mildly worse than American Eagle. I really feel bad for the people as they try in spite of a system that seems to place them in a position of failure"

Ah the Navy Yard. In 1972, Massachusetts was the only state to not vote for Richard Nixon. When he was voted in a landslide, he pulled the Navy from the yard. We responded by gentrifying the area.
Payback is not a b..., as it turns out.
Which brings us to The Navy Yard Bistro. NYB, as I will call it, has two rooms split by a fairly large bar and outside seating.
To be brief, if I ever have eaten a better piece of salmon, I really don't remember...Yes it was that good and at $16...A great deal
And for once, everyone else enjoyed their meals...Chicken and salmon
Excellent and unexpected....RIP Dick Nixon

Formaggios is an upscale wine, cheese and everything else associated with wine and cheese shop. Its smallish perhaps 750 square feet. It is attractively laid out with the sundry part up front and the cheese in the back. It is also on the way to or from the great restaurants in the "new" South End.
The cheese is very, very good. The service is even better. Case in point: The girl friend likes a cheese with a "barnyard" flavor, so we must have tried 6 before she acquiesced. The cheese steward can not have been more knowledgeable and accommodating.
Its seldom that I have seen such great service. I can only hope that Yale can be that good

I had the crusted salmon, split 2 salads and the consumed the bread pudding...(what can I say, I was hungry). My companions ate the pork and Mahi. They really enjoyed the food...Then again they are from the burbs, so anything outside Vinny Ts is fine dining.
Kudos on the wine, bread and service as well...
