We decided to go out to dinner tonight, and of course, we went to a place we knew would be good. You can always count on it. But tonight was a week night, so we thought that it might be, for some reason a little less enjoyable..NOT SO... The music was there, just like on the weekend. Great musicians, playing ever so wonderfully. Even on a Tuesday Night! And the tourist haven't even invaded town. So what this tells me is that this place cares out it's clients year round..even on weekdays, in the off season! I cannot say that about their competition on the same block.(Brix) We tried to go there the night of the super bowl and they were trying to close early!
I truly love this restaurant. It is the best in town!

We have been to this lodge twice now for business and the feeling you get when you arrive there is unbeatable. It is tucked away in a wooded setting away from everything. The facilities are top notch. Inside the lodge is a fabulous restaurant that can rival any big city establishment. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, with a rustic decor. There is a Spa available, as well as a fitness center, pool and hot tub. My favorite place is the outdoor hot tub overlooking the River. It has been misty and raining ever so slightly both times I visited. Being in this outdoor hot tub looking at the breathtaking view in the rain is one of my favorite memories, and what I fondly remember when I think about my visit there. It is just a short drive into Portland from there. I love this place!

We were in town for a convention..out on the Art night where the Museums stay open late, riding on the trolley, when a girl on the bus told us about a great restaurant she liked..Luckily we took her advice, as we had no idea what was good being from out of town.We walked in to Saffron and were wonderfully surprised... We knew we were in the right spot. They had a musician playing, the atmosphere was great. The menu looked yummy. A couple of my friends were vegetarian and there was plenty for them to choose from..Roasted eggplant spread. Warm spinach dip, Veggie Skewers. They served an appetizer of warm pita bread with tomatoes, feta and endive. The meal was fantastic. They had all kinds of Martini's..and Pistachio Ice cream with rose water drizzled over it for desert..It was out of this world! What an awesome surprise to find such a great place. It was our lucky night!

We tried this cute little place, and were AMAZED at the delicious, fresh, creatively prepared dinners. The salads that came with our meals had unique, freshly prepared dressings...Gorgonzola and Garlic, and Lemon Mint...Yum.. Must have been the Chef's own recipes....The dinner prices were reasonable, for expertly prepared meals...I glanced up at the wine bar and noticed they also serve a huge selection of TAPAS from the bar only. I am looking forward to a fun evening of trying out new wines and sampling their Tapas menu with a friend!
If they are as delicious as their Dinner, I will soon have a new favorite place to stop in and enjoy more often.

Usually nothing much on I should say.. I was excited to see Al Gore's "An Inconvenient truth" on pay for view right now..I have been waiting to see this movie.
I also enjoy the travel and food channels..other than that, I usually watch pbs or wsu t.v... The quality of t.v. really leaves a lot to be desired these days. I think this network could do a lot better with their selection of movies available on their basic package. It is an improvement over what we had available before we got dish..it was only about 2 or 3 channels.

I took the ferry across from Seattle to Bainbridge Island last fall to visit Bainbridge Gardens. I had heard so much about the place because of Ann Lovejoy. She is a garden writer that I heard speak at the N.W. Flower and Garden Show in February. She said that she had worked there. It made me want to see it. They do indeed have every thing that a garden center should have. Their selection of plants was good. The gift shop was a lot of fun, lots of unexpected gifts for anyone on your list. The pottery selection was great. I had a nice time browsing through all of the sections of the nursery, it is laid out leisurely with paths taking you all around the many buildings. Their selection of garden art was unique. The ferry ride was beautiful. It was worth the trip!

I have to admit, I am addicted to Garden centers! I cannot go anywhere without visiting them. It's kind of like how some people seek out the best restaurants when they come to a town, I seek out any and all Garden Centers, it is my favorite thing to do. This one really impressed me! They are on top of things... The place was clean and organized. Full of every Perennial or Shrub you could want. All laid out beautifully so that it was easy to find. They had a full line of Fertilizers and soils..also gorgeous pottery! I had a blast visiting this Nursery!

I love the feeling that comes over you when you walk through this garden center... it is like you loose all sense of time. The perennial selection is fantastic. All of the plants are organized neatly into categories, like ground covers, shade plants, etc., making it easy to find what you are looking for. The gift shop is easy to find a gift for anyone. They have books, gardening gifts, tools, anything you could want. The buildings have character and the grounds are beautifully planted. What a treat!

We rode the gondola to the ski resort up at the top...what a treat. The staff at the rental shop was very helpful and knowledgeable. Soon we were flying down the slopes. There was a restaurant on site in the lodge, and a picnic area inside for anyone who brought their own food from home. After our "picnic lunch",we returned outside for some more skiing. The lights came on and it was magical. You could see much better, the shadows cast by the overhead lights made navigating the slopes much easier. It was so peaceful and serene skiing at night. It would be a perfect setting for a romantic date. I noticed as we were leaving that there was a newer "Tapas" restaurant in the shopping complex at the bottom of the gondola. We are going to try that out on our next visit, which for sure will be at night!.
