I first went to Rotee just after they opened and have been back almost every week since. they have consistently great food at great prices. I love it. My favorites: chicken tikka masala, chicken or lamb karahi, chicken tikka boti, onion naan, and the free chai.
I get the feeling that some of the bad reviews on this site may be written by jealous people associated with other Pakistani/Indian restaurants. Try it for yourself. I bet you'll love it!

Great food, in all the usual dishes. Chicken tikka masala is a must. The menu was pretty funny to read. The space is great, with bright colors that give it a modern, yet casual feel. Such a nice change from the other hole in the wall. The restaurant also takes a Bollywood spinoff approach, with Pakistani version visuals, reflective of Lollywood. Movie posters, and other interesting photos on the walls.

This place feels exclusive and calm, sort of as if everything moves in just the perfect speed. It’s a nice thing because most all other restaurant in the city do their best to rush you out. Love the decor and the food, both are different yet come together to really make the place feel complete. The food is amazing, the flavors just explode in your mouth. The deserts are very refreshing and tempting too.Truly a great addition to san francisco. love it.

If you can afford the suite it might becool. But it was clean and in a great location, right next to china town.

My battery died in my rental car and while I was out on the town, the desk clerk had the battery charged for me - free of charge - I was amazed!! An oasis for the hip & trendy - three thumbs up!!
