I've been here a couple of times for lunch and once for dinner. During lunch, Seoul Garden has a long list of lunch specials that are well worth the price - ie 7-8 dollars for a bowl of noodles or a plate of kal-bi. The food is very good and the side-dish selection (served at all korean restaurants) are very much to my liking.
Dinner here is very delicious too and everything is competitively priced with other Korean restaurants in the area. I would very much recommend this place for its deals and delicious meals!
Service was also pretty good - so no complaints there. The only thing that could be a little awkward is that it is located right next to a strip club on Kapiolani Blvd.

Gyukaku offers a wide array of meats and vegetables that you can cook yourself over a charcoal grill right on your table. It is a lot of fun when you're eating with friends and family. The food is very good and the meat is extremely tender and juicy. there are many different cuts of meat in different sauces that you can try and all are just as delicious. However, it is pretty expensive overall - a two-person meal could run you as high as $70 or more. While each slice of meat is juicy and mouth-watering, it costs about $5 for 6-7 tiny pieces of meat.
The last time I went, I felt the waitstaff was somewhat arrogant toward me and not very polite. Fortunately, this doesn't happen all the time though. I've been to other Gyu-kakus in Japan and I have to say that this one pales in comparison to those abroad.
Overall excellent food, though expensive, but I suppose that is the price for Japanese bbq.

I've been ordering cakes from Liliha Bakery for almost ten years now and they are consistently good at what they do. Their chantily cake is pretty famous and very tasty, I might add. Their other pastries are also very good and many people recommend their cream puffs. I'm not exactly a big fan of cream puffs, so I can't say much about it.
They also have a cafe/diner next to the bakery which serves very good food as well and big portions. Their butter roll with strawberry jam is a nice appetizer - very soft and melts-in-your-mouth kind of buttery. i usually order the hamburger steak when i'm at the diner.
liliha bakery is great overall, but there are some downsides. after a few days, the pastries aren't that good anymore, so i would only recommend buying what you plan to eat within the next day. it's hard to find parking on most days and completely impossible on holidays and their diner menu is somewhat limited (or maybe i have been there so many times that i feel there isn't much left for me to try.)
It's open 24 hrs with the exception of Monday when they're closed. very reliable if you're hungry and looking for a place to go at 2am!

This is probably one of the best chinese restaurants that i've been to. Their food is good and tastes very authentic and their portions are enormous. I've been there with my family on several occasions for their family style dinner menus which are supposed to serve 10 people - but in reality, you could probably feed 15 people with the amount of food that they give you and all for a price under $150.
The food itself is pretty tasty and almost everything you eat has a different, unique flavor to it. their honey walnut shrimp and sweet and sour fish fillet are probably my favorite two dishes - the soups are also very very good. (try it!)
The lunch buffet is well worth the price when the food comes fresh from the kitchen. there is a wide selection of food to choose from, even shrimp, and a very delicious tapioca dessert is often featured.
At night, if you're not going here for a party, they have a special where you can order a lobster/crab cooked how you like it and 3 other dishes of your choice for under $40. I've never seen a deal better than this at any other chinese restaurant. my family is a big fan of seafood, so this is always perfect for us if its just the four of us.
occassionally, there might be a wait on your food if the place is packed and short-handed, but i think it's still pretty worth it.
