Bad business practices 11/10/2006

My IMPRESSION of this business: I purchased a jacket there &, when I got it home, found that the zippered on hood was missing & the coat was filthy, including what appeared to be dandruff all over the shoulders & back, and badly stained suede trim. It was dark in the store & I was unable to see this until I got home. Tho' the owner had told me at purchase that I could return the item, when I actually did, she rudely told me that hers was a resale shop & everything was sold as is. There was no sign to that effect in the store. She finally did return a portion of my money; but, was extremely rude & ordered me never to come in her store again (not that I would want to). I am a wheelchair bound 64 year old grandmother. Also, the owner had initially told me that she would have to hold my refund for two days. I had paid with a debit card & her account had been immediately credited; so, there was no reason for her to hold the payment. Beware when you make a purchase there that there is no customer service after the purchase & that her clothing has not been inspected for soil (possible health hazard) & damage. Even Goodwill does not sell clothing items in this condition. (PS... she kept $5 of the price when I returned the jacket.) more
