This store is an absolute MUST for anyone who loves jewelry, especially silver and natural stones. The owner is friendly and knows just about everything about all the pieces he sells. The prices are MORE Than fair, and I have walked out of the store with genuine silver rings at a cost of around $5 on occasion! He also sells vintage jewelry and gift certificates. Whenever anyone asks me about my rings, I always make sure to point them in the direction of a Nitch in Tyme.

El Azteca on Little Creek Road is excellent. They have delicious dishes, super fast service, and great prices. Their food is always served hot and the wait staff makes sure you have fresh nachos and salsa at all times. Their frozes margaritas aren't bad either. Most of the time there is no wait and there is a nice little outdoor patio if you prefer to eat outside. El Azteca is a great place to go for authentic Mexican food for a really affordable price!

The Naro in downtown Norfolk is truly a gem. It is an old theater that still hosts movies on a regular basis. The wonderful thing about the Naro is that they usually only play independent films there versus big blockbuster hits, so it draws a nice crowd. Also their snacks and drinks are good and MUCH cheaper than the big theaters. There is a balcony so you can sit up high if you like. The Naro is definitely a fun place to see a movie and the perfect spot to take a date on a Friday night.

Candl Coins and Stamps carries hundreds of varities of US and International coins, stamps, and baseball cards. The owner will be happy to assist you with any questions you have, and if you think you may have that rare coin or stamp, bring it in and he will help you determine what it is and what it might be worth. The store also carries special coin displays, stamp collecting equipment, and a huge variety of baseball cards. A wonderful place to check out for the novice or for the seasoned collector.

I want to give all of you looking for a new car a word of wisdom: No matter what, do NOT go to Greenbrier Volkswagen. They will sell you a lemon and tell you it isn't their fault, then try to charge you an arm and a leg for repairs. The car I bought from them fell apart within DAYS of purchase. I had to have it towed 6 times in three months! Each time they would tell me something else was wrong, and even though I had an extended warranty, they'd tell me it was not covered and it was a "maintenence issue". Their repair people are rude, pushy, and untruthful. Honestly I don't recommend a Volkswagen at all, but if you do buy one, make sure it is not there or you'll regret it.

I first stumbled upon Atlantic Auto when I was having problems with my car and needed a tow. They happened to be nearby so I picked them out of the phone book, and I have been taking my car to them ever since. Lucky for me, since they are honest, thorough, and friendly. I tell everyone I know to take their vehicles there now. The owner is very realistic when your car has a problem and gives you different options to fix it whenever he can. Usually, even if it is a major repair, it never takes more than two to three days to get it back which is great for this area, as most mechanics often hold your car for up to a week. I highly recommend Atlantic Auto for all your automotive repair needs.

The Azalea Inn is a terrific place for a nice casual night out for some really great food. They have redesigned the inside of the restaurant and it has a really nice, cozy ambience. Their pizza is absolutely wonderful and they smother it with cheese and any toppings you can think of. Their sandwhiches are always delicious. Check out their appetizers and try their famous cheese balls, you will not be disappointed!! I think anyone living in Norfolk should visit the Azalea Inn at least once for the experience.

The Norva offers tons of great bands and solo acts from all over the nation and the world. The place is huge with an uptairs balcony that surrounds the stage, as well as a bar. The drinks are really expensive and the security can be pretty rude, but if you want to see a bigger name band, then the Norva is the place to be. I advise you bring cash with you, since their ATM charges a $5 surcharge. Going somewhere before the show and getting a few drinks somewhere on Granby St. is also recommended to avoid the high prices. Other than that, the Norva is still a top notch venue, and THE place to see shows in Norfolk and Hampton Roads.

Philly Style Steaks and Subs is THE closest thing to an authentic Philadelphia steak sub you'll find anywhere around. Their subs are absolutely delicious and the full subs are very large in size. They also sell a really good salad that incorporates their steaks which is divine. The place is really neat with a lot of cool Philadelphia memorabilia all over the walls and a small arcade room. The service is fast and fairly friendly and the food never, ever disappoints. There is nowhere else in the area that has better submarine sandwiches. A true treasure!

The Chrysler Museum in Norfolk is definitely one of the city's most treasured buildings. Recently renovated, it houses works of art from paintings, to sculptures, ancient jewelry to glass. There are always travelling exhbitis that showcase some wonderful artists from all over the country. The museum is lovely and organized into sections for easy maneuvering and has quite an impressive collection of modern art. If you are ever in the Norfolk area, the Chrysler Museum is a must see for the entire family.
