The Virginia Marine Science Museum has so many awesome exhibits including a HUGE fish tank. They have a skates exhibit where you can actually pet the animals, and a touch tank for the kids. The museum also has otters and seals in their mammal exhibit. Daily there are live productions where the staff shows you how they dive and how they feed the animals. There is also a beautiful outdoor nature trail along a wooden path over the bay, and a nice bird aviary. An Imax theater is also there, and this is the perfect place to take your kids for a fun day at the museum!

Gifford has been my landlord for almost two years now. They got me a terrific deal on a wonderful condo, and renewed my lease with no raise in the rent. Whenever I have a problem, they make sure it gets taken care of promptly, and always call me to follow up. They are conveniently located so I don't have to mail my rent check, I can just go in and drop it off. The people working there are really friendly and helpful in finding you a new apartment, house, or condo and their rent rates are reasonable for the quality of housing they have available.

Camp Zama Records is an awesome spot for the vinyl record fan. They sell some ULTRA rare stuff there, and most people who work there know almost everything about the history of all their merchandise. You can find autographed records there, too. They also carry a huge selection of punk, indie, and rock n roll CDs as well as some rare collectibles. Camp Zama is a staple of Norfolk's music scene and I highly recommend checking it out if you are into music and rare items.

The Thoroughgood Inn Comedy Club is an awesome place to check out some of the hottest local and national live comedy acts. They have a food menu and drinks, and you are served at your table while you watch and laugh. Wednesdays are open mic nights and admission is free on these nights. Many times they host national acts and have had people from SNL perform. The club is a terrific choice for a night out on the town and a fun place to go for a good laugh with a date or with friends.

Tonya's Pet Center is just a short 10-15 minute drive from Norfolk and has some of the widest selection of pets and supplies I have ever seen. The interior is clean with a huge beautiful koi fish pond in the front. There is a reptile room also where you can go inside and look at the snakes, turtles, and lizards. The staff is great and can help recommend the care for any animal you choose. They carry a large selection of pet toys, food, and other supplies as well as a lot of unique items. I would suggest going here for your pet needs and if you are looking for a new friend. They do not sell dogs and cats however, but have a great selection of fish, rodents, and reptiles.

Trilogy comics has a great selection of awesome comics! Not only do they always carry the latest editions, but they carry vintage and rare comics as well. The store also sells collectibles and a lot of great Star Wars memorabilia. The store is small but their shelves are stuffed with loads of great comics. From anime to fantasy, Trilogy Comics has everything you need for the comic fan in your life. The staff are helpful as well, and sometimes there are even free editions of comics at the counter, so be sure to check for those as well.

The Colley Catina serves up some GREAT Mexican and Tex Mex dishes. Their menu selection also includes burgers, salads, wraps, and sanwiches. They have a really nice staff there who always check up on your drinks and anything else you may need. There is an outdoor eating area where a lot of the locals like to sit and people watch. The menu prices are more than reasonable, and I suggest trying the taco salad, it is delicious! Colley Cantina also has a great beer and drink menu.

The Naro Expanded Video store has SO many rare and hard to find movies! They have foreign films, alternative and independent films, and also a wide selection of popular movies. The store is located just near the Naro Movie Theatre, so it's a great spot to go rent some movies after watching on at the Theatre. The staff is more than friendly and really helpful. You can find just about any movie you've been looking for here!! If you can't find it here, you probably can't find it anywhere! I suggest going there to check it out and see what new exciting movies you can watch!

Prince Books is located downtown and offers a wide selection of rare and hard to find books and magazines. They allow you to sit inside and read, and often have special promotional speakers and book signing events. There is a small coffee shop located inside as well, where they serve coffees and gourmet sandwiches. You can find some great underground reading here, and magazines you won't find at places like Barnes and Noble. I highly recommend checking out Prince Books for some great reads!

Ocean View Hardware has been in the area for years, and they have a real hometown small feel to them. They sell plants and vegetables in the outdoor area and have a key making service. There is an old Coke machine at the counter where you can buy Coca Cola in the bottles, just like the olden days. The staff is friendly and always smile. I recommend this place if you are looking for a home improvement store that doesn't have the "big box" feel, then this is the place to go.
