cruizin coffee is where I prefer to go to wake up in the morning. My drink of choice, 16oz Cool Coffee Cream- topped with whipped cream. Its a mix between a mocha shake and a mocha icy/slurpee (if there is such a thing) They have quite the extensive drink menu, they seem to be able to mix or blend ya anything you want. They offer breakfast sandwiches, bagels, cookies. The service is fast and courteous. Its refreshing to see a little variety in the hiring of employees; not every Cruzin Coffee stand has the outgoing, tight shirted, jazzed up girl hanging out the window to take your order. Its nice to vary from the coffee girl stereotype, if fact I have seen quite a few men serving customers too. I have to commend the service even more because when there are cars lined up, employees will come out past the window to the other cars to take orders so the wait isn't so long (even in the rain). Now that deserves a tip! Another great feature to this stand is that it isn't open just your regular coffee stand hours, at most locations they are open 24 hours a day.

Red Door Thrift store in Anacortes is worth taken a peak at. If you are on a budget (like most of us) this is a great place to save a few bucks. Unlike the chain thrift stores, prices on their items are very reasonable. In fact I just bought a nice, casual summer dress to wear to work for $3, and a casual dress shirt for $0.50. Now thats a bargain.
The shop is small, limiting selection a bit, however with frequent patrons, items come and go quickly. They seem to have a big selection of glasswares, and decorative items. Cups, decorative/collective plates, serving sets, vases etc. Men, women, and children's clothes. Most clothing ranged from $2 - $6. They have little selection of electronics/ appliances. The shop is clean, and the items seem to be without stains or rips. The volunteers are friendly.
Besides the cheap prices another bonus is that the shop isn't packed full of people or items. You have some space to look around at things.

California Burger located on 184th ST. is a great little restaurant to fill your belly. The atmosphere is a fun 50's theme complete with a working old time juke box that plays records and takes quarters. There is a bar with swiveling stools where you can watch your server quickly fill up sodas or create one of California Burgers hard ice cream shakes. There are about 25 different shake flavors all which can be combined to make even more flavors. These shakes are to die for. The food is comparable to Red Robin's, as is the cost too. The menu contains burgers with names from California, like the San Fransisco burger, which is pretty much a deluxe bacon cheeseburger with all the dressings plus refillable fries. You can get any type of burger imaginable, from a plain hamburger to a burger topped with peanut butter. They also offer chicken burgers as well as big delicious salads. Vegetarians can be appeased as well because any of the sandwiches' burger pattys can be switched out for a veggie or Boca patty. The service is fast, and always friendly. The servers are mainly young kids paying their way though college. Some of the employees have been there for years and years. Since the restaurant is small, and next to the movie theater it can be pretty crowded at times, however, getting a seat is rather quick and the food usually takes only about 10-15minutes. I highly recommend Cali. Burger for the next time you and your family looks for a place to eat.

BCLC is wonderful. Both of my sons attended the daycare/preschool program. The staff is excellent, always full of smiles and helping hands. Karen, the director, helped me out when I was in a dire "situation of need." She let me use BCLC emergency resources to try to help me get back on my feet again. I really appreciated the above and beyond quality of care provided by all at the center. It is quite evident to me that they really care about the kids at the center. They care not only what they are doing while in their direct care, but also what happens when they get home. They develop a relationship with the whole family and I think that is important. They encourage parents to get involved with their kids by reading to them and taking the time to just talk with their kids. They offer a sliding scale for the tuition cost, based on income. This was another way BCLC helps families in need. Being a single mother and attending a university couldn't have happened without BCLC help, I wouldn't have been able to afforded it. I highly recommend this daycare/preschool

Jack in the box 196th in Lynnwood.
My first trip to this location was Ok. I was moving at the time so my trips were in the middle of the night. The first time a young woman was very helpful and very pleasant. My order was a little wrong, but nothing to really file a complaint for. My next visit was the next night. A larger woman with dark hair helped my family and I. I can't remember what her name was, but it may have been Jessica. I always order the F&C meal with a Coke and usually I ask before ordering if they have any sliced lemons. When they say yes I tell them I'll eat the F&C with lemons and tartar. So we go through the drive thru and when we got to the window the employee (later find out the night manager) just held her hand out, impatiently waiting for me to pay. No hello, no Hi, no how are you, no thank you, NOTHING. She handed me the drinks, and bagged food before handing it to me. I guess I was just supposed to know that was all my order because she had already turned to walk away when I said, "excuse me, do you have the lemons in here." She said no we don't have lemons. I said Ok what do you give customers for Iced Tea? She said those are Iced tea lemons, the health department doesn't allow us to use iced tea lemons for anything else. I thought this sounded pretty ridiculous, I think she was just being lazy. I had lemons the night before without any incident, then the next night I am refused lemons because of the manner I will be using them in. I mean after all how much different are the iced tea lemons? I was very upset because if I had known about the lemons not being available I would have chosen something else.

I had the absolute worst experience with this company. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and still they made no attempt to satisfy me, their customer. I was not the only one, other people had filed complaints too and they never heard from the company either.
I bought an older used car from King Nissan-Volvo, just something to bum around town in, so I didn't put so many miles on my main vehicle. At the time of purchase I said I wanted to take the car to a mechanic's to get the "check engine" light checked out since I noticed it was lit when I took my test drive. However, the sales consultant told me that the boss said this is a now or never deal. He just wants to sell another car today since he needs to get the old inventory out of here. Since, I didn't want to miss out on a good thing I said OK, and still purchased the vehicle for a little over 2,000. When I took it to a shop for the usual used car inspection, the representive told me that the car did not pass the safety inspection and that the company should fix the problems at no cost since they all ready should have been performed as routine.
The one thing that sticks out in my memory is the unsafe condition of the wheels and tires on the car, yet they still sold it to me. I have 2 young children and at that time I was a full time student attending WWU so car repairs were something that I would have to save for. The tires were only being held on by 2 lugs, the rest were missing. There was at least one missing on each wheel. The repair shop owner was convinced that the King Nissan-Volvo auto dealer would repair them at no cost so, he made the phone call to the service department where they told him that the car was "As-Is" and that I could have bought an additional warranty at the time of purchase.
The mechanic was shocked by the comments of the service personnel. He couldn't believe that they would sell me an unsafe vehicle, one that should not even be driven on the road. .
