The Short Hills Restaurant & Deli doesn't stand out from the other Jewish delis in this area. They offer hoagies, lox, gefilte fish... All kinds of fresh products, most of which are rather tasty. I like to come here for their homemade chicken noodle soup. But I also like their chicken nuggets and sandwiches. You can taste that everything is of high quality. You can also taste that the people who work here care. However, they aren't always the friendliest.
Decor is casual, light. You won't find too much, and the place is not gorgeous, but it is nice. The prices are reasonable and you may even find a coupon in the local magazines.
Location: Short Hills Towne Center, where the Starbucks is.

Though I must admit that I've never seen any of the workers dancing here, I still don't really like Johnny Rocket's. I ordered a side of onion rings. It was, as the other reviewer stated, about $3. I got about half of a Burger King value menu serving. The service is also slow. Another thing I don' t like is how the shakes cost like $5 apiece. They're good, but not that good... Why don't I like Johnny Rocket's? The food is not of high quality (I watched the waitress cook my food- all of it was precooked frozen stuff. Their fries are McCain branded. I buy those at the local SuperFresh.) and the place isn't too clean. It really is overpriced. I felt very cheated when I left since for the price of eating here, you can eat at the wonderful On The Border restaurant I just reviewed. I won't be coming back...

(I like the Tom Yum.) The service is attentive, too. The decor rocks! I like the little candles and the Thai statues. In addition, the food is delicious. The pad thai is very tasty. Another thing I like is how Som Sak will let you choose how spicy you want your food. They mean business when they say something is spicy!
This restaurant has been a fixture in the Echo Shoppes for years, and they are a good place to eat if you're on a budget. You can enjoy a high-end experience for a low price. It's no wonder that they are so popular.

On the Border is by far one of my most favorite chain restaurants. Their decor is top notch. I love the plants and the plates that hang on the wall. The chandelier made out of beer bottles is also a nice touch. I like the food too. Like an earlier reviewer, I love the Empanadas. They have cheese, unlike other Empanadas, but they taste great! I also enjoy ordering the "Choose 4" combo for $9+. It is a good deal since it can feed two adults. (as long as neither one has a voracious appetite) What I most enjoy are the bottomless chips and salsa. The salsa really is hot, "picante, caliente!"
The prices are reasonable, too. You can eat your fill for under $10 a person as long as you only eat an entree.
The staff are mostly pretty good, though one host wasn't that great.
Be forewarned, though: if you eat too much everything tastes the same. And the refried beans aren't that great. Also parking can be a hassle during peak times since this restaurant and the Macaroni Grill next door are both very busy.

I had heard the rave reviews about Joe's Peking Duck House located here in the Marlton Square, but after trying it several times, I am not too thrilled. The "Dim Sum" where you eat little tidbits for lunch, is not delicious. It is too oily and it seems like it's not too fresh. Adding insult to injury, they charge a good amount more than the restaurants in Chinatown do. I've never tried the famous peking duck though...
The decor is minimal. The restaurant is too dark. It's not a romantic kind of dark. The location is nondescript. Joe's Peking Duck House is near the acclaimed Food for Thought restaurant in a quieter part of Marlton Square. Parking isn't a problem. The restaurant is dated. It could use a facelift. The service is okay, but I felt that I was being ignored in favor of other customers. And the entrees are priced comparably to other Chinese places. Plus you can use coupons sometimes. You'll find them in the home mailed "clipper" magazines.
If you're looking for light food that won't provoke heartburn avoid this restaurant. Otherwise, I'd come here for foods like Lemon Chicken.

Lotus Oriental doesn't offer any food that stands out from other restaurants; it's how they execute the food that makes them quite all right. The prices are reasonable and they do offer coupons in the home mailed magazines. The staff are friendly, though they don't care when you complain. (I found hair in my food before, and they wouldn't do anything. They told me to just take it off and eat the food. Eeww!) The decor is quite nice, too. But what I like is the sushi bar. That gives the place a special ambiance. Lotus is located in a small strip mall near a Sunoco station, however, so that limits how much "ambiance" it can have.
I like the gyoza in the bento lunch specials with Katsu chicken. And the kung pao chicken is nice too.

I usually avoid the traditional department stores in favor of big boxes like Target and Wal-Mart, but Macy's is just too good to avoid. They sell upper crust kinds of items, like thick linens and classy clothes. They have a wonderful Cellar that's filled with appliances, pots and pans, and gifts! You have to come here during Christmas time. They create a "Holiday Lane" with some very cute ornaments that are cheap. And the One Day Sales are exceptional. You can get things for like 65% off during those! And they run coupons and circulars once in a while.
There is a huge cosmetics department, with brands you don't see in every department store like Origins and Benefit. A little too pricey for me though.
Did I mention that the store is huge and that the staff are wonderful?

I like Mikasa china, but I'm not the patient sort of person. So I like to shop at this store which offers every day value pricing on all kinds of Mikasa products. That means you'll find china, crystal, and accessories- even cookbooks! They carry just about every pattern, and even if you don't plan on buying, you can come here to browse and touch the goods. (Like if you want to order from the Internet, but you want to see what you're getting first since fine china is expensive.)
However, for a supposed "high-end" brand, Mikasa has not done a good job of lighting the store. It really does feel like you're in a factory, even though you are in East Gate Square. And I hate the layout. It makes me feel like I'm in Wal-Mart or something.

I love this store since they have good deals on produce and since they are right in the middle of Center City's Reading Terminal Market. But when the conventioneers are in town, the whole place gets crazy. I came here recently during the Flower Show, and even though this is a produce market, the lines were horrendous. Luckily the cashiers have baggers helping them and they work nonstop.
You may have trouble finding Iovine Brothers since they are right in the very back of the Terminal Market. But trust me: they are one of the better shops in this market. Their store has more produce than my local suburban SuperFresh market! And they have everything from vegetables to fruits, all the conventional products that most people eat. All the prices are very reasonable, but sometimes you get a steal- like $1/lb strawberries.
I will be shopping here again.

This CVS is so convenient. I don't fill my prescriptions here, but I'm always here buying medicines and toiletries when I'm going down Route 73 and need stuff. I get lots of good items here, like dish soap and toothpaste and antacids. CVS does some fantastic sales. They have an ExtraCare card that gives you 2% back on every purchase, and I like that.
The staff here are so helpful. I make my photos here, and the photo lab staff have been very patient and thoughtful. They let me shop while my photos were being made and then they called me over the loudspeaker when they were done.
Checkout is fast here, and the cashiers do not mind when you buy a lot of stuff.
Anyway, this store is always busy, so you do sometimes have to wait in line. But it's okay. Parking is plentiful- just pull up right in front. And there's a drive thru pharmacy.
Just a last thought: I always remember this store for the beautiful callas (or are they cannas?) that they have planted in front.
