If this was a Wal-Mart, Kmart, or Sears Essentials, it'd be out of the ordinary. But it's a Target, so it's a bit below average compared to the other local Targets. The employees in this store aren't so cheerful and pleasant. This is a Greatland store, so it is huge, but the layout isn't that great. It feels a bit confusing. Clothes are in the middle, electronics on one side, basic staples on the other. They have a weird cosmetics section that is separated from other aisles (all the makeup is in one "corral" surrounded by the backs of other shelves) and the grocery department is quite large compared to other Targets. I don't shop here too often because the other stores sell things at the same price and are nicer, brighter (probably), and are overall nicer. (The other stores mostly have nicer facades- with stone and brick and arbors and sculptures.)

Olive Garden restaurants are always great, but this one has been consistently wonderful for years. It is one of the older Olive Garden eateries, but it still feels modern after being remodeled a few years back. I've come here a lot, and I have only been disappointed once. The food is tasty- Italian with some American influences. Everything is buttery, rich, and cheesy. My favorite aspect of eating here is the complimentary unlimited breadsticks and soup or salad that come when you order an entree. You can be full just from these. You can even order the bread and soup or salad as a dish. It would make a filling lunch. I personally refrain from eating here too much since I know everything has a lot of fat and calories and I am watching my diet, but still, sometimes I can't resist. The prices are so reasonable ($11 for an entree) and the service is usually so prompt and good. This place is busy from opening to closing- partly because it is in the Voorhees Corporate Center. Travelers: if you are staying in the Hampton Inn down Laurel Oak Road, this is in walking distance.

First off, let me admit that I'm not a local to upstate New York. But I do travel, and let me tell you that this Cracker Barrel is very nice. The service is actually very good (unlike at the Cracker Barrel near me in South Jersey), and the country store is a lot of fun. I didn't even have to wait for a seat. I was here in August (right before Hurricane Katrina), and they already had the Christmas stuff out- so I thought that was a bit early. Anyways...
The food was great. It was good country cooking like they advertise. It came out promptly and the decor was very nice. It made me feel at home. Also, if you are en route to Lake George, I recommend stopping here since it is a good value that you won't find once you're there. I remember that this restaurant was right off the New York State Thruway (I-87) or is it the Skyway? I get confused. It was near a Wal-Mart Supercenter and a Home Depot (Halfmoon Crossing) and there was a gas station and a motel right off the exit for Clifton Park. Hopefully I helped someone!

Aldi is all about good deals. They aren't located in the prettiest part of town, and their interior makes most "discount" stores look like Saks Fifth Avenue. Even during the daytime, Aldi feels dark. Some people would call it depressing. Also it's annoying how they make you deposit a quarter to access a shopping cart (you get it back when you return the cart) and how you have to pay for bags. (I would bring a cardboard box like many people do if you are going to buy a lot.) The checkout lines are long. Luckily the staff are efficient- cause there's not too many of them! But you have to overlook all of this for the good stuff.
The merchandise is of good quality. The foods are tasty and are priced a lot cheaper than most supermarkets. I came to regret not buying 33 cent a pound banans here- my supermarket later charged me 49 cents for the same item- even with the same brand sticker! However, Aldi doesn't carry many branded items. Most things sell under generic store brands. Also the store is small and doesn't sell too many things. Plus Aldi stocks in pallets, not shelves. I don't think they accept coupons, but at these prices what would you expect. Last of all, you can park right near the entrance and get in and out pretty quickly. Location: next to Hooters on Route 38

When I'm shopping at the Deptford Mall, I often make a quick stop to this Target, located right off Deptford Center Road next to BJ's. It's very convenient! If you live in Gloucester County, you can just take Route 55. If you are coming from Camden or Burlington County, just take Evesham to Clemens Bridge Road. Anyhow, I feel that this Target is pretty good. It's got all the standard features- the accessible price checkers, the good sales, the stylish cheap chic clothes and home goods. However it is a bit larger than older Targets like the one in Voorhees. They have a great health and beauty department- better than most supermarkets. The whole stores is very clean, and doesn't show its age.
What I like is how unlike other Targets, I don't spend much time waiting in line when I come here. They open plenty of registers. And the cashiers are friendly. They make this Target better than Wal-Mart, as another reviewer said. The prices are competitive too. Furthermore, Target does better clearance sales every now and then. (though most of the stuff left isn't that great) Sadly, the parking lot is crazy. You waste a lot of time finding a spot. But part of that crowd is the people who go to Don Pablo's or Pizza Hut to eat.

The GapKids in the Cherry Hill Mall is not close to as good as the GapKids store in the Marlton Square. Their prices are higher, and there are fewer items, especially clearanced or on sale. Also, the store doesn't have any natural light. However, they carry slightly different merchandise. Either way, most aspects of the shopping experience are about the same. The regular prices are the same and the basics (jeans, t-shirts) are just as good. The staff are still friendly here, and of course, it's well lit and colorful inside with kids pop music blaring throughout, which I find to be annoying.

Aveda is a cosmetics brand. I think they're part of Estee Lauder. Anyhow, this is one of three or so Aveda stores in the Philadelphia region. I haven't been to the others, but I'd say this is pretty much hit or miss. The first time I visited, on a weekend, the associates weren't too helpful. They were okay, but not as friendly as I'd want them to be considering how high-end this store is. On the next trip, the clerk was very nice. This was on a weekday. She served me and two other customers, and even fixed me up a free sample of their pure-fume. (which smells medicinal and tea-like, by the way) What I like is how the products here are natural. I like that emphasis. I also like the woodsy/modern decor and the bright lighting. I love the way the products are displayed, and I love the products themselves. Just that the prices are unnaturally high, especially considering that they seem to be selling themselves as a casual luxury kind of brand. (For work, the prices wouldn't seem as bad. They're still cheaper than many department store brands like Chanel.)
Location: near the shuttered Strawbridge's.

Stop & Shop is the new form of Super G, which used to operate here in South Jersey. I think they're just different emblems of the same company, but sadly, Stop & Shop has gone downhill. When they first "opened," they started with great sales and supposedly improved prices. They put up signs all over the place advertising new lower prices. They also offered a better coupon policy. (Apparently now they will double coupons up to 99 cents.) I was a loyal Super G shopper before, and really it's not Stop & Shop's fault, it just seems that whoever owns them all is cutting back. The staff aren't as pleasant and cheerful as they used to be, and the store lacks the volume of shoppers it used to have. This can be seen since they don't open as many registers as they used to. Honestly, this store is dated. It needs to be freshened up. The landscape, which used to consist of a beautiful gazebo, trellises, trees, and a manicured lawn, is now showing its age. The lawn is overrun by weeds. On top of all this, the merchandise just doesn't seem as fresh nowadays. And now that we have the new Wegmans, I don't shop here, even though it is very well situated at the corner of Springdale and Evesham.

ShopRite used to be a great store. I used to buy everything from there, even items that weren't on sale. But now I am only going there for the sales and "loss leaders." Wegmans recently opened up, albeit a bit farther away from my house, and I prefer their policy of every day consistent low prices. The service at ShopRite leaves something to be desired. They treat you like a crook when you ask for a raincheck or a price adjustment if something scanned wrong. They always make pricing errors- never in your favor. It's like every time I go there, something goes wrong. Like the grapes I buy ring up at the wrong price. Or the item marked on sale doesn't scan that way. Lately this doesn't happen so much, but it is still a pain. In addition, they don't open up enough checkouts. The only time they aren't like a zoo is nighttime. ShopRite is the type of store that's so crazy inside, you have to spend like an hour there. They aren't convenient at all. And their interior is cheap feeling- unlike Wegmans and Genuardi's. I must admit that their sale prices are very good, though the regular prices aren't so much.
In fact their parking lot reminds me of that at the King of Prussia Mall. It's a mess, with lots of shoppers. However, the perishables are very fresh since with so many customers, they are always restocking. This ShopRite is next to Kohl's by the Marlton Circle. It's okay, but I think the other ShopRites are better.

I never used to frequent this JCPenney until the stores at Echelon (Voorhees) and the Gallery (Philadelphia- Market East) closed. In a way, that was actually a good thing. This JCPenney is better than both of them were. Firstly, the staff in this JCPenney are very friendly and polite. They care about their work, and it shows. (I know I often say that, but that's because I run into so many good stores staffed by good people.) The service here is much better than at the JCPenney in Cherry Hill, which I avoid at all costs. Moreover, this store is better lit than the other JCPenney. It is modernized, bright, and pleasant. It offers a nice assortment of departments, too. There's furniture, clothes, cosmetics (limited), shoes, and jewelry. There's even a styling salon, a portrait studio, and a luggage department. It's spotless inside, and it is easy to find what you want. The prices are great; everything goes on sale at prices that rival Kmart, Wal-Mart, and Target. Plus the store is much nicer. My only complaint is that the aisles can be a bit narrow especially in the clothing department, and they should open more registers on weekends. I last visited during the Sweet Sale and while I appreciated the free chocolate, the lines were a little too long for a store of this caliber.
JCPenney is located at Center Court, next to the Food Court. Its second floor is by the Reactrix (?) machine/floor mat where kids can play around with a screen. They can move and the machine moves too.
