I'm from Chicago, so I don't know how it happened that I never had Polish food until now. For my appetizer, I ordered the hot dried plums wrapped in bacon. It sounded unusual, but I love bacon and believe you'd be hard-pressed to find a food that doesn't taste good wrapped in bacon. This was delicious! There was no pit in the middle, so the plum was more like a sweet filling to a salty coating. Delicious.
My boyfriend ordered the lightly breaded chicken breast for his entree, which was tender and moist, not overcooked. I had the cabbage leaves stuffed with beef and jasmine rice. This was so good! Couldn't finish both leaves because they were pretty big, so I brought one home and had it for lunch the next day. It even tasted good microwaved. :)

I go here for eyebrow and bikini waxes, though Marina's also offers facials, massages, and other skin care services. The prices are great! A Brazilian bikini wax will run me about $75 at salons, but here it's about $30-$35 (I can't remember exactly). I don't know the name of the girl who I usually see, but she can do a bikini wax really fast, so I can squeeze in my appointment over my one-hour lunch break. I'm knocking off 2 stars, however, because the service can be somewhat impersonal. During one session, her cell phone kept ringing AND she was taking phone calls. I don't think they were to make appointments because there's a receptionist at the front, so I thought that was pretty unprofessional.
Other than that, I'm very pleased with this business.

I've been to both locations of this restaurant - the one on Vanowen and Hayvenhurst in Van Nuys, and the other on Magnolia and Colfax in North Hollywood. Both locations did not disappoint, and I was extremely please with the prompt, friendly, helpful staff.
Some of my favorites on the menu: tom yum kai, where the bowl is big enough to share with at least one other as an appetizer, yum woon sen, beef salad, pad see-ew, and spicy noodles. Everything on the menu is under $10, with most (that is, not including sea food dishes) under $7.
I've never had to wait long for my food, and one day I brought a bunch of co-workers there for lunch. Some had never had Thai food before, and the waitress we had was very helpful with suggestions. Also, when we arrived, our food showed up on the table right when we got there because when we called to make the reservation, the woman who answered the phone said we could fax over our order ahead of time. This was great since we all only have an hour for lunch.
I will definitely eat there again. There is also a website, where you can view the menu, at http://www.winsthai.com

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hanusek, and when I showed up, I didn't realize how long I'd have to wait. However, shortly after I arrived, he had called the office to let me know that he had to go deliver a baby, and the receptionist was very nice and told me I could either wait for him to come back, or reschedule. I decided to wait. What a nice office to wait in! Not that it matters really, but it was very well decorated with lots of current magazines, unlike those dreary offices with National Geographics from the 1970's.
I actually didn't have to wait very long, and Dr. Hanusek has such a great attitude. He apologized for making me wait and patiently answered my questions. He even gave me a few months' supply of birth control pills (sample) so that I wouldn't have to have my prescription filled right away.
Such a great doctor, and I didn't feel like I was bothering him at all when I asked him questions.

Since I'm stuck with an HMO, I chose Dr. Choi simply because his office is a block away from mine. When I called the office to make my first appointment, my medical coverage had just started, so I hadn't received the insurance card in the mail yet. When I explained to the receptionist that I only had the print out of my insurance information that I downloaded from the insurance company's website, she refused to make an appointment for me. She told me that unless I had the actual card in hand, it would be a hassle for her to confirm with my insurance that I had appropriate coverage. After multiple calls with my insurance, my human resources department, and the doctor's office, I was able to get an appointment.
Note: The only reason I stuck to this office was because it was the only office that is close enough to my work. It is difficult for me to get time off for anything.
First appointment went all right, but I had to schedule a follow up appointment. When I showed up for my follow up, the receptionist told me she didn't have me down for an appointment and told me it would be a short wait. Short meaning an hour, and the doctor spent 5 minutes with me and barely answered my questions.
I just had another appointment today, about 3 months since my last one, because my boyfriend ended up getting scabies, and his doctor said I should be treated for it too. I showed Dr. Choi the rash that appeared on my back and he said he couldn't diagnose it and refused to prescribe the cream that I needed to treat the scabies. Normally I would respect that decision, but then he told me that I should use my boyfriend's medication instead of him having to write one for me.
What is the point of me paying him to be my doctor is he is only going to tell me to use someone else's medication? Can he even do that? I don't think that's ethical!
