I just ate here last night with 6 other people. Mostly this restaurant is counter seating (and each person gets their own hot pot), but we were lucky and scored the back room (someone in my group called ahead), which seats 6-7 people., but you have to share hot pots as there are only 2 on the table. I had a large order of beef, which is 8 ounces. The regular is 6 ounces. Besides the meat, my order also came with a really big platter of veggies (mushrooms, squash, carrots, leafy greens) as well as some udon noodles and dumplings to toss in the pot, and also a bowl of rice (you can choose white or brown).
Even though I washed everything down with a bottle of Sayuri sake, I still felt like I had a really healthy meal. The sauces that are served with the meal are delicious, and my friends and I had a lot of fun cooking our meals. I'll definitely come again.

The fried chicken wings here are really, really good. They're seasoned with . . . I don't know. Something addictive, because I usually have to get my own order of wings when I dine with someone else because splitting 1 order isn't good enough for me. I also get the karei karaage. Please excuse the spelling, but it's the fried halibut chunks served in a dish made out of the rest of the fish's body. It's really, really good!
It's hard for me to pick favorites because I've enjoyed almost everything except for the grated potato with quail egg (had no idea the egg would be raw, so when I slurped it down the texture wasn't too pleasing to me). I also usually order the grilled eggplant with miso topping, as well as the hanpen cheese, which are fish cakes with cheese, breaded and fried. Those are so good and I would never have though of ordering them if someone hadn't recommended them to me.
I wash everything down with some Sapporo. The plates are small and inexpensive and perfect for sharing. Gets rather crowded, especially on weekends. I usually don't bother going after 7:30 PM because I hate waiting.

I'm usually at work, so I don't get to enjoy the 3-6 PM happy hour often (it's Monday thru Friday), but on the rare day when I take a day off, I'll ride my bike over here for the $2 appetizers, sake martinis, and beer. The appetizer portions are of course smaller during happy hour. The fried calamari is delicious, as is the fried chicken (boneless), fried shrimp, and tofu salad. Happy hour martinis are lychee, pomegranate, or apple. They're all right - a little weak but it's $2, so I shouldn't complain. I can't recall the types of beer you can get for $2 since I usually get a martini, but I just checked their menu and they serve Asahi, Sapporo, and Kirin.

First of all, I'm totally kicking myself for not having gone to Pam sooner, as I used to live about 3 blocks away when I was still in Valley Village. She is one of the nicest hair stylists I've ever gone to, and she made my hair look great! Extremely reasonably priced. After over 4 years living out here, I thought I finally found the one hair stylist I could go to, as I've been never found one that I could be loyal to. Unfortunately . . . she's moving! She'll be closing shop before the end of the year and leaving LA for Hawaii. I am SO sad. :( If you need her services, try to get her before the end of the year. I'm not sure when she's moving, but she said she'll be on the big island before New Year's.

I think most people order the soon tofu when they come here, but I go to get my bibimbap fix when I'm feeling too lazy to drive to K-town. Open until 9:30 PM (on weeknights, at least, which is when I go), the place can still busy around 9, but I haven't had to wait long for a table. Very tasty, and you get about 5 side dishes along with your meal. Service is quick, and the staff has been really friendly and helpful (one waitress offered to mix up my food for me). Definitely will go again!

I stopped by to order some food for carry out - wait time was 10 minutes for 2 dishes - not bad at all! Super Wok is in this strip mall and looks a lot smaller from the outside, but the interior is clean and spacious. The hot and sour soup was a generous portion for $4.25, and it was very delicious. I also ordered the beef chow fun for $6.95. I thought this was just ok, as I found it a bit bland and had to pour a packet of soy sauce on it for flavor. Still, this gave me enough food to feed two people, so the price was definitely right. I'll come back again to try the other items on the menu.

This place is always packed, so last night I decided to go around 6 PM, before there were too many people there. It's mostly communal tables, except for maybe 3 or 4 individual tables. The food is delicious. I had the baby squid (which came sizzling on a metal plate and were very tender), seaweed salad, teba, eggplant and chicken on skewers, okra on skewers, and cold noodles. Prices were very reasonable. I ordered 9 different plates in all and the bill still came to under $30 (that didn't include beverages though, but there is sake on the menu). The menus are creative - printed on paper and then glued onto what looks like what used to be sake boxes. I'm glad I came early because by the time I left around 7:15, people were already waiting for tables. I'll definitely go again to try out some of the other things on the menu because everything sounded so delicious!

I've been able to find lots of foreign films that I have a hard time finding at larger video stores. The selection is great, and if you're looking for a specific title, the owner (I think he's the owner because I see him there every time I go in) will be able to tell you right away, without consulting a computer, if he has it in or not. The store looks a bit cluttered because it's so jam-packed with videos and dvd's, but he's got a system. =)

Cha Cha Chicken's jerk chicken enchiladas are delicious. The jerk sauce is really tasty, and the dish comes with a side of fried plantains that I always save for last because I love them so much. You can bring your own wine (or beer) and there's no corkage fee. The seating is all outdoors, but very colorful with an interesting mural. I've also enjoyed the coconut fried chicken wings (comes with a side of jerk sauce so you can have it as spicy as you'd like), arroz no pollo (found this a little more bland compared to the rest, but still tasty), Ricky's Wrap (a chicken wrap), and the jerk beef burger (tasted so good drinking too much the night before). They also had, the last time I went, canteloupe and watermelon aguas frescas, both of which were cool and refreshing. I love coming here on a lazy Sunday for lunch or brunch.
