Aquazoom Car Wash is a full-service car wash. Simply pull up to the window, hand over your money, and drive up to the car wash. Someone will spray the dirt and bugs off the front of your vehicle, then guide you to drive onto the tracks, at which point you can take your hands off the wheel and relax as your car is pulled through the automatic wash. At the end, someone else wipes down your wheels and dries off the residual water droplets, and you drive off with a perfectly clean car. And you didn't even break a sweat! You can also opt to have Aquazoom employees detail the interior of your vehicle. Aquazoom is a little pricier than most car washes, but if you're in a hurry or feeling lazy on a hot afternoon, it's worth the splurge.

Speedway on Cleburne Road is a complete self-service car wash, and one of the cheapest in town. Just a few dollars in change will enable you to wash your car, shine the tires, shampoo the floor mats, and vacuum the interior. The car wash has ample car wash stalls and vacuums, so you will never need to wait in line to use the facilities there. If you only have a few dollars, and a very dirty car, head over to Speedway Car Wash.

My family loves to go to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. It is lovely to have a picnic lunch on the grass on Saturday afternoons and just enjoy the natural surrounding, quietness, and fresh air. We particularly love the Japanese Garden ($3) in the fall, when the reds and oranges of the leaves are truly vibrant, and the Rose Garden (free) in the late spring and early summer, when the air is heavy with the perfume of flowers.

We recently took our car, which was due for its 60,000 mile tune-up, in to City Garage for a full inspection to see what needed to be done. The mechanics were exceptionally friendly, and the premises were clean and professional. They went over the car and gave us a print-out of all of the maintenance they thought should be done soon, and told us that we really needed to have our transmission fluid changed, as it was quitedirty. We went to get a second opinion, and found that the transmission fluid was actually completely clean, and that some of the prices quoted were on the high end of what's acceptable. While we were impressed by the helpfulness and friendly demeanor of the staff at City Garage, and know they would have done a good job on our car, we can't say we were 100% confident in their assessment of needed maintenance, or in the quoted prices.

We recently bought a car from Fazeli Mitsubishi, and were fairly happy with our car-buying experience there. The dealers were friendly and were willing to come down on the price of our chosen car quite a bit, and when we had a complaint about the car a month later (the brakes, which were supposed to have been checked thoroughly, went out), they were more than willing to remedy the problem, free of charge. We would buy a car from them again in the future without worry.

Dr. Kimberly Mehendale has a wonderful bedside manner, and our infant son lit up every time he saw her. She is also great with parents, and took lots of time to talk to my husband and I and answer all of our questions (and as first-time parents of a newborn, we had a lot!). The pediatrics office she is part of is also very child-friendly--it is decorated in a safari theme, and has lots of large stuffed animals throughout the waiting room. Dr. Mehendale's staff is also very courteous and helpful.

Travis Avenue Baptist Church is very large, but very welcoming. When I attend Travis, I don't feel "lost" in the crowd, even though there are hundreds of people there. Because of Travis Avenue's size, the church is able to offer lots of programs for children and youth (I love their MOPS program for mothers of preschoolers), as well as community outreach programs, such as ESL classes for immigrants. I recommend Travis Avenue to anyone in the area looking for a solid, Bible-teaching church with lots of great programs and a friendly atmosphere.

I love shopping at Deja Vu Clothing. Their clothes are always so unique and fun to wear, and their accessories are funky and unlike anything any other store sells. The atmosphere of the store is warm and welcoming, and don't be surprised if you see a cat lounging on top of a hat rack, peering down at you! Deja Vu also carries a small selection of gifts such as candles and stationary.

I was recently looking for an occasional table for our living room, and thought I would try Chip's Furniture as I happened to be in the area. Not only did I not buy a table there, I left quickly and haven't been back! The store was dirty, the furniture was mostly out of style, and surprisingly, their prices were very high considering the low quality of the furniture. I also found the employees to be rude and dismissive. When you're furniture shopping, avoid Chip's!
