Open Mind music on Divisadero may not have the selection that Amoeba does, but they have a wonderful hand picked selection and an incredibly knowledgeable staff. Plus there is always an open listening station and you can listen to almost every record before you buy it. As far as I am concerned they have all the bests of every genre from down-tempo electronic to classic rock. I can spend hours in there talking with the employees and listening to records, and I never am able to walk out empty handed.

One of my personal favorite places to get sandwiches is King Foot Subs on Divisadero between Haight and Page. They have a large selection of sandwiches and their toasted subs are awesome. Try the teriyaki chicken sandwich, its really good. The place looks a little funny and the decor is interesting, but there's nothing funny about their giant king foot subs.
