We have been taking our pets to Ballard Animal Hospital for about 13 years now. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff and the doctors. The new vet, Dr. Kung, treated our dog when he was very ill. Dr. Kung was honest, kind and realistic about treatment. Jan, who works at the front desk is understanding and helpful. The facility is a bit old school, but well kept.

This is the store where you go to get the "it" items written up by magazines. They have tons of unique gifts from soaps, stationary, little buttons...to my favorite: the initial key chain. The stuff isn't cheap, but if you are buying a gift, they will wrap it up all pretty for you. The store itself is small, so when it's busy its hard to browse. I have no experience with the sipping or shipping part, just shopping. The staff here is super nice and is willing to help. They have 4 (or so) parking spots in back, as well as two 15 minute parking spots.

I've been here a few times, each time was a pleasant experience. A big group of us went and ordered a variety of appetizers. My personal favorites were the pita and hummus tray, very nicely presented with fresh tasting cucumbers as a garnish. We also had a veggie tempura bowl, the batter they use is delicious and cooked perfectly! By far the best though was the home made chips, nice and salty and HOT! Cooked to perfection. We ordered a number of drinks, nothing stood out as too impressive, but it was nice having a cold beer and fresh chips. I have had breakfast here, the coffee is good, but I ordered their version of an egg mcmuffin and it was way too salty. This place is always busy and fun to hang out at.

I was lucky enough to see the Bodies exhibit a few days before it opened to the general public. There was a special viewing for the medical community. I did not have to pay the $25, but after going through the exhibit I gladly would have. I spent almost 3 hours being amazed and overwhelmed. In addition to the whole human bodies on display, there are sections dedicated to different systems of the body. There are different parts of the body on display, for example healthy lungs and lungs with cancer. There is too much to talk about in one review, but this is a must see exhibit. I don't spend more than $25 on a pair of jeans, but I would gladly pay that to see this exhibit!

Cupcake Royale attracts a range of people from 20 somethings with their laptops to moms with kids. The cupcakes look fun with a range of icing colors. I was disappointed with the taste of the cupcakes. I have made better ones at home with store bought mix. The cupcakes are about the size of what you might make at home and at $2 bucks a pop are not worth it to me. The coffee is what draws me in with the standard espresso fair. Cupcake Royale serves Cafe Verite coffee which has a nice strong flavor.

I went to Dr. Tidwell to have my wisdom teeth removed. He is very popular, it took me about 2 months to get in. His office is very nice and modern. The staff is efficient and friendly. Dr. Tidwell is very down to earth and I felt comfortable asking questions. The procedure itself was an easy experience. I was able to choose what music to listen to. The anesthesia was a breeze and I had no after effects. I had no problems with recovery. Overall, the process was a breeze and I was very happy with my experience.

I am picky like a 2 year old. When my family suggested Blue C Sushi in Fremont for dinner, I was disappointed. We ended up going for happy hour. There was no wait to get in, the decor is modern and cool with flat screen TVs showing anime films. We ordered HH beers with Amstels at just $2 each. I ordered a teriyaki chicken breast for $3. We also ordered cucumber, avocado and salmon rolls, edamame, veggie tempura and sake. All the food was $1-3. I couldn't believe it, I like sushi!! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious! The staff is very helpful and efficient. There is parking provided free of charge below, entrance is by the PCC. Happy Hour is 4-6pm every day. There is no HH at the University Village location.

I am kind of a cleanliness nut. I check out King County health inspection reports of restaurants I go to...weird I know. Salmon Bay Cafe is one of the few places I can look past the old fixtures and often times fruit flies and enjoy the cheap meal. The weekends are always busy, while the weekdays fisherman fill the booths. Salmon Bay Cafe is the cheap version of the Hi-Life (IMO). You've got your lifelong Ballard residents and your hipster kids shaking off their hangovers. Coffee is strong and always refilled. The menu is pretty traditional breakfast fare. Omelets are the main thing on the breakfast menu, they are big and fluffy with a variety of toppings. The potatoes are delicious. Fruit is not always ripe. The french toast and muffins are nothing to write home about. I've only been there for lunch a few times, it's been fine. Filling and cheap. The staff is friendly and fast. They are open for breakfast and lunch only.

OK, so I am a little spoiled at work, my boss buys us lunch every week. For the last year we have been going to Wild Mountain every week. The food is delicious. Between my office group, we order a variety of things. I always get breakfast with delicious garlic potato cakes. My boss gets the daily special wrap, which can be anything from a thai wrap to a more traditional caesar wrap. The wrap comes with soup which 95% of the time is delicious. Every once in a while they miss. The salads here are fresh and inventive. The fresh lemonade is a must. The desserts are made daily and are always delicious. The mud pie is by far the best cake/pie I have ever had. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is eco friendly and recognized by the city for the conservation efforts they make.

I usually go to Gene Juarez beauty school for my hair services, but needed a quick haircut and Greenwood Academy was close. I went on a Friday morning and most of the students did not have clients, so they were sitting around talking. The girl I had cutting my hair was 17 and complained the whole time about the lack of respect she receives from other students. She texted(!!!) the whole time she cut my hair. Her instructor checked out my haircut and she received a passing grade. My haircut was fine, the final straw was when my stylist told me she didn't feel like drying my hair. I told the front desk person about my experience and the response I received was "she had a late night last night, shes not usually like that". That was it. The overall quality of the academy is much lower than that of Gene Juarez.
