If you are looking for a tasty, reasonably priced Asian meal with generous portions and little to no wait, look no further than Pei Wei. When you first walk into the restaurant you may think the food will be sub-par because of the chain-like decor. I was pleasantly surprised to find this to be not true. It turns out that this pan-Asian restaurant is a casual branch from P.F. Chang's. The quality of food is in line with what you would expect from a casual P.F. Chang's owned restaurant, and at half the cost.
I had a great experience from start to finish. The hardest part was deciding which cuisine to choose- Thai, Korean, Chinese, Japanese or Vietnamese. You get your choice of brown or white rice when you place your order at the counter. After ordering, you are given a number to be displayed at your table and a waitress will bring your food to you when it’s ready. You are responsible for filling your first fountain beverage, but a waitress will provide you with refills. All tables have extra plates for sharing, which comes in handy for sharing the large portions you are given.

The Roast Grill is a Raleigh Tradition that opened over 60 years ago and almost nothing has changed since. It is a very small restaurant with a "Hot Weiners" sign out front and limited seating inside. You should stop by at least once to try the hot dogs for yourself. Their wall is covered with pictures of famous people who have eaten there and commented on how much they loved the food.
They don't have a menu because options are limited, but that's ok because most people just order a hot dog "all the way". Make sure to order a coke as well because they serve old fashioned coke that comes in bottles. Bottled coke has always tasted better than canned to me and is almost impossible to find.

The pizza slices are huge here. You definately get your moneys worth and there are drink specials every night. Simply put, the taste of the food is in line with its cost. They aren't going to serve you the best pizza you have ever had and it won't be the worst.
It isn't the pizza that keeps people coming back, though. It's the atmosphere, especially if you are an NC State fan.

The NC Museum of Art, with its impressive permanent collection, is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. A variety of works will catch your eye from ancient Egypt and Rome to present. Admission is free if you are viewing the permanent collection. There is a small fee to view temporary exhibits. They tend to be well worth the minimal fee.
They also offer free, guided walk-in tours Tuesday-Sunday in the afternoon.
Their café is also known for serving good food. Don’t forget to catch a movie on the lawn in
the summer.

The North Carolina Museum of History is a must see in downtown Raleigh. Spend an afternoon learning about North Carolina’s history. I have always enjoyed the exhibits the museum has to offer, especially those dedicated to the civil war and Wright brothers.
On my last visit I was also lucky enough to watch a play put on by a local church during Black History month.
Admission is free and you can also rent the facilities.

Best Price Cleaners are very cheap and promise same day or next day service. You can get men’s shirts cleaned for $.99 and almost any other garment for $1.50. They even have coupons that allow you to get the 6th garment cleaned free with no limit.
I am embarrassed to say I have had a few bad experiences with them, however I kept going back because it was cheap and I believed it wouldn’t happen again. My last experience will be just that, my last. I brought in 42 garments to be cleaned with a coupon and the lady at the counter actually had trouble counting. She tried to only give me 4 garments free and ended up having to consult others in the back to determine what 42 divided by 6 was. Also, the business isn’t air conditioned so everyone, employees and customers, are sweating profusely during this.
Skipping ahead, the heat got to me and I agreed to 5 garments free just to get back to my air conditioned car. I was told to pick my garments up the next day after 5:30. I arrived the next day to find half of my garments were missing. It took nearly half the store to hunt them down. Remember, the temperature inside is unbearable. After a 30- minute search, I was told 2 of my shirts were stained yellow with starch and to pick them up tomorrow. So much for next day guarantees! At least they actually told me they over-starched my shirts this time. On my last visit I noticed some pants I took in had a large starch stain at home. Of course, if you don’t notice this in the store you are basically out of luck.

I didn’t believe my boyfriend when he said Peace St. Market had one of the largest beer selections around. From the outside it looks like a regular convenience store. Inside you will find many coolers stocked with domestic and imported beer.
The prices are very reasonable for beer you don’t have to purchase at room temperature.

I enjoy visiting the Museum of Natural Sciences. One of my favorite corporate events was hosted here. I like the plant and animal exhibits on the first and second floor. I think the dinosaur room on the second floor is my favorite. The third floor has a bug exhibit and café.
This museum is fun for kids and adults.

The fairgrounds flea market is definitely something you have to experience in person. Some people will bring their dogs with them while they shop and make a day of it. You really can find almost anything you need here.
There is plenty of parking available. You may have somewhat of a walk ahead of you if it is packed though.

The Vietnamese food at Lime & Basil is very good, probably the best in the triangle. Considering the location, it also happens to be very cheap. My Lemongrass chicken and spring roll were only $8.50.
I have had people tell me the service is lousy because they are usually packed, but I went for a late lunch with friends and we were the only people there. Our waiters were very helpful, attentive and friendly.
