Just a small warning: They are only open for breakfast and lunch (6am - 3pm) and are very busy on Sunday mornings so get there early (by 8 am) if you don't want to wait for a table!

Perhaps the reason I like this mall is for the same reason the other reviewer, Kelly, dislikes it: there isn't a large crowd. I usually avoid malls because of the overflow of teenagers, but this mall doesn't feel overly crowded most times (although I still avoid it most weekends). They have a nice food court with a cool fountain that everyone, young and old, seems to gravitate toward. I heard there are more food stands coming later this year and the movie theater has just been renovated. (9/30/06)

Unlike the nearby Petco, this store is very clean, and the staff actually knows something about animals. Not only that, but you can tell they are well cared for. I bought a hamster from them three months ago and she is even tempered and healthy. They also offer cats for adoption and obedience classes for dogs.

I've never had better orange chicken than at Panda Express. I will often order a two-item combo and get orange chicken for both! Their fried rice isn't bad either.

I've only eaten breakfast here, but the chocolate chip pancakes are to die for. Be sure to get extra whipped cream!

After Loews Streets of Woodfield (now owned by AMC) in Schaumburg raised their matinée pricing to $7.50+, I stopped going to the movies. That is until I learned about this theater. If you're looking for a reasonably priced matinée ($5.50 for adults), this is the perfect place. The theaters are clean and not overly crowded, at least during the first and second showing of the day.
The concessions are pricey, as are all theaters, but they offer free refills on any size popcorn and pop which is nice.
I'm not that thrilled with the friendliness of the staff, however, particularly the ticket-takers, but the time spent dealing with them is minimal so it's fine. My only real complaint is they don't seem to run movies long enough.
TIP: They have a frequent movie watcher card, so ask for it if they don't offer! After 10 admissions, you get one free. If you're going with a friend/partner, it adds up quickly.

I've yet to find an Italian beef sandwich that is better than Portillo's. I've been eating at their various locations since 1996 and this particular one since 2003. Their cheeseburgers and fries are really good as well. And don't forget the chocolate shakes!
Just a little tip: Be sure to check your sandwich carefully if you ask for peppers on it. Three visits in a row they forgot them! Or make it easy and get them on the side. They never seem to forget them that way.

I also like how the tomato is chopped so that everything is bite-sized. If you're not in the mood for steak, they make a great chicken breast platter that is flavorful and juicy. Very reasonable prices, particularly during lunch on the weekends.
