I have taken three of Grisha's classes now and I cannot say too many good things about Grisha, her gentle and thoughtful approach, and her knowledge of canine behavior. Grisha is always creative and humorous--and she really gets results.
I work in rescue, and many dogs we get are frightened or aggressive. My own dogs are too. I have taken other classes and read extensively--but Grisha's well run and well organized classes synthesized it all and gave me a flexible structure to work with.
I could go on raving and raving. Suffice it so say, if I could give her 10 stars I would!

I paid $35 for the worst haircut I have had in years. The stylist paid no attention to what I wanted, had no knowledge of how to cut fine hair, appeared rushed--and really didn't know her stuff. She was also completely unsupervised, so this was like going to a school with no instructor as backup. My husband laughed when he saw my hair and he's a kind soul--that's how inappropriate the style was. I have had tons of better cuts at SuperCuts or from friends. If you read my other reviews, I rarely bash a place--but I really felt cheated. Having read the other reviews here, I MAY try it again if I can get ever my courage up. But, I had to pay a whole $10 to go to the Greenwood Academy to fix the cut so I could go out in public.

I have had my hair cut three times and highlights put in once at Greenwood. The prices just can't be beat. $10 for a cut and the whole highlighting was about $40. Of course, these are students--so there can be uneven results; but that is what education is all about and you are giving the next generation a chance to learn. These aren't perfect cuts, but for the price it's great. What I really appreciate is that an instructor checks each cut and makes corrections--so you never go THAT far wrong. I would advise that you be clear about what you want. These are often young learners who don't yet know everything it will take to make you look your best. But they all seem very eager to learn.

Greenwood Market is a combination small supermarket and co-op. I particularly like the bulk bins. You can get not only the usual flour and granola but also a wide variety of items such as baking chocolate and small portions of various spices, lotions and potions, and grind-your-own organice nut butters. There is an excellent selection of organic produce, organic dairy--and a nice wine department with good in-store specials. If you watch the sales, you get some great deals here. Good, if small, cheese selection. Very good produce. And if you, as I, am an addict of the whole wheat fig bars also found at Larry's--the same ones are here in bulk at a much better price.

Mud Bay Granary has a wonderful selection of high-quality dog and cat foods--kibble, canned, and raw. They also have a nice little magazine about new products they are trying out and very informative handouts. The staff, usually youthful, appear to have been well-trained both in customer service, in their product lines, and in general knowledge of pet needs. When a cat decided to join our household, I learned about the need to be sure cats drink not from my vet but from Mud Bay . This kind of pet food isn't cheap--but I think one saves in the long run on vet bills. My only wish is that they would also stock Innova, more Solid Gold, and Artemis Small Breed food. But, that's a quibble.

I really love this place. When I moved here they were not only a source of great cat and dog food and pet supplies but recommendations other resources for my pets in my new area. This is a family-owned, independent store. Among other great foods they stock Innova, Solid Gold and the Hund-n-Flocken line, organic kibble, as well as some interesting varieties from New Zealand. The prices are not low, but you get a discount if you buy a case. They have also been very generous when I needed something special for a rescued dog and they always have information on pets needing new homes--a real community resource. One of the best things about my new neighborhood is that Crown Hill is my local pet supply store. There are at least two store cats always in residence.

We really love going to Taki's. A friend introduced us, and now it is one of our favorites. The Vegetarian plate is a real delight, and all our friends tell us that the gyros and meats are truly special. AND don't miss the baklava whatever you do. It is not as extremely sweet as many renditions--thin layers of filo with lots of delicious mix. Taki's special flavoring has a hint of pumpkin pie and lots of nuts.
The ambiance is very informal--clean, deli-style counter, no table cloths, family pictures on the wall. It is a bit like eating in the kitchen of a really, really good cook. Prices are very reasonable.

If I had all the money in the world, I would take all my pets here. This is a beautiful, clean, light office. I have used two different vets here and each one has taken the time to calm the animall and not rush through anything. The advice and treatment were good and care thorough--although in no case was I looking for any really advanced service.
The problem is, the prices. They even charge to set up a new record. A standard neuter for a healthy puppy was over $200. I paid as much for 25 soloxine pills as I pay for 100 pills from a less costly vet.
You DO get what you pay for, but you DO pay for it.

I highly recommend Dr. Price, particularly to anyone with a sighthound. Not all vets understand the needs of these dogs, but both greyhound and Italian greyhound rescues work with Dr. Price, so he knows his stuff.
My first impressions made me hesitant. This is a very busy office. You weigh your own dog and the staff are hurried, although they try extremely hard to be polite while the phone interrupts them. Dr. Price is a reserved person--he doesn't smile that much--until he sees the dog (or, also, my cat). But once he starts his exam and diagnosis you see a great diagnostician at work. He has been right on target every time AND the prices were very reasonable for high-quality dental cleanings, office visits, and surgery. So, despite the busy atmosphere, I now give this Dr. Price a "perfect" because any shortcomings are more than compensated for by the strengths
