Not the best in Mexicantown, but certainly the cheapest

Evie's is like the Lafayette Coney Island of Mexicantown. The food is inexpensive and fast and tastes pretty good, but not great. If you're looking for a finer dining experience, head across the street to the Mexican Village Restaurant or Xochimilicos. However, If you're looking for an under $5/plate deal then Evie's is for you.
The tamales are pretty good, although I'm not a huge tamale fan, so I don't have a large base of comparison.
Parking is free behind Mexican Village.
