I have to admit that the first time I went to Lark I was sorely disappointed. The best thing I had all night was the cheese plate, and I left feeling unsatisfied.
My most recent experience, however, has more than redeemed Lark in my eyes. My boyfriend and I went in and had course after course of wonderfully prepared dishes -- all of which looked, smelled and tasted exquisite. I enjoyed every bite and would go back again and again if my budget allowed.
I would reccomend Lark as a great place to go with a date, a family member, a loved one, or anyone else. The noise levels can get a little duanting when they are busy, since there is little to muffle the noise, but if you can get past that, it is definitely worth a visit.

I love Red Mill Burgers -- and it looks like everyone else in Seattle feels the same way.
I have taken pretty much every out-of-town friend to the Phinney location, and make it there as often as my waistline will allow.
I love everything I've tried on the menu.
My favorites things on the menu are:
Bleu Cheese and Bacon Burger -- one of my out-of-town friends that I took recently exclaimed that the bacon and bleu cheese was the best he'd had in a long time, even on their own. This burger is a true masterpiece.
Red Onion Jam Burger -- heaping pile of caramelized red onions... what more is there to say? I love it with a good slice of cheese, too.
Verde Chicken Burger -- this one is really my favorite of any of the burgers, even though it's chicken. It is what I order every time I go... A nicely roasted Anaheim pepper (which can vary in heat -- sometimes I have to wash it down with a milkshake, sometimes I'm ok) with cheese and lettuce, tomato, and deliciously grilled chicken. It's slightly lower in fat and makes me feel like I'm splurging without feeling guilty. This burger is very very good.
The Onion Rings -- Yum. Best I've had in Seattle.
The Fries -- It's always a disappointment when your burger place doesn't have good fries -- these are top-notch!
Red Mill is vegetarian friendly, too. They offer great veggie burgers, which are just as delicious as the meat ones. Just make sure to leave the sauce on the burger -- it makes them that much more delicious (this coming from an ardent avoider of restaurant "special" sauces).
If you haven't tried Red Mill yet - go!

I tried this place for the first time last night and was somewhat disappointed. It is within easy walking distance of where I live, so I was excited at the possibility of having a good place to eat so near by.
I love the atmosphere -- whoever they hired to do their interior decorating did a good job, and the place is inviting and was very busy while I was there (around 6pm).
The food, however, was another story.
My boyfriend and I ordered the caesar salad, which consisted of large leaves of romaine lettuce on a plate that barely contained them (meaning you attempt to cut them into bite size pieces and half the salad slides off your plate onto the table) and was served with a bland, very garlicky caesar dressing. Caesar salad is something every restaurant should be able to do right, but this was not a good salad -- I liked the croûtons the best.
I also had a hamburger, which I always expect to be a safe bet at a place such as this -- but it was another miss. The bun was huge and too much bread for the size of everything else. The meat was unseasoned, the cheese average, and it was all accompanied by a small leaf of lettuce and one slice of tomato. The fries that came with were the best thing on the plate, I thought.
I left feeling full but not satisfied after spending upwards of $50 for two people.
The service was fine, and I did notice that it seemed to be a great family-friendly place. I just wish I had been more enticed by the food for such a great location.
I guess this place got a good review from the P-I. I'd like to know what they tried that was so good...

The restaurant was a great place to go on a date, too -- great lighting, great seating arrangement, and absolutely delicious food.
The lasagne was my favorite -- I haven't been in a while, so hopefully it's still on the menu, but it was delectable. Thin layers of pasta with thin layers of the perfect sauce with thin layers of cheese -- yum yum yum.
I love the bar, as well. Great place to sit and wonderful drinks.

I can't seem to get my fill of the perfect caramel flavor of their coffee. It's not just the coffee, either -- it has as much to do with perfectly steamed milk and foam the graces each latte with peaks of velvety wonder. I can't stop gushing about this place!
I have to say I am also most impressed by the fact that the owner of Vivace has taken a consistent stand in making environmental causes (including carbon emissions) an important aspect of his business profile. Amazing coffee and good business practices -- what more can you ask for?

I agree with the other reviewer, Erin F. Union is a much under-reviewed gem in terms of consistently good gourmet cuisine in Seattle. I went for the first time a while back and was pleasantly surprised by the gracious and attentive wait staff and even the nice ambiance of the restaurant. The food was wonderful -- everything was plated simply and beautifully, and it was delicious from the first bite to the last. I especially enjoyed my Wagyu beef steak with potatoes and chard -- absolutely mouth watering.
I've heard that the best deal at Union is to sit in the bar area and order from their smaller plates menu -- which I plan to try next. Even still, their regular menu is well-priced for the food they are serving.
I hope they will find a large influx of new and old patrons once the construction settles down.

I'm raving about Crush.
I have been several times, and once I got past the space-age looking furniture and "see and be seen" crowd, I sat down and tasted the food.
Ah, the food. The only criticism I can offer for the kitchen is that the food is sometimes too much -- too good, too delicious, too rich and wonderful -- and so I have to roll out the door and to my car instead of walking. The short ribs are divine -- a very decadent and yet familiar homage to your mom's pot roast taken 5 levels higher. I think the kitchen staff must work hard to create mini-mouth-orgasms that amazing, and I give a big "thank you" to the chef Jason for his consistent standards of excellence.
This restaurant isn't getting a ton of hype from nearly every major food and wine magazine in the country for nothing....
I have consistently found the wait staff to be pleasant and attentive, and very knowledgeable about what they are serving you including what wines or drinks from the bar might complement, etc.
And, to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt -- Crush has done well with the volume of people who flock to their doors at the Seattlites favorite eating hours (7 and 8) by keeping their standards high.
