I recently went to Aji for my birthday. The food is great, the wait staff was friendly. My server advised us on recent changes to the menu and was upfront about her limited knowledge on the newly added items. We arrived during happy hour (3pm-6pm every night!) and took advantage of some of the drinks on special and the ceviche. Everything served was perfectly portioned and they took great care in presentation. Our dinner was not rushed but we never felt that we were twiddling our thumbs waiting for food. I suggest the homemade churros with hot coffee vanilla and peanut dipping sauce for dessert on a cold night. This dessert alone is worth a drive into Boulder. Overall we had a great time at this restaurant and enjoyed spending a little more money than normal on a special night out.

After my travesty at tapestry I decided to treat myself to a haircut at Finishing Touch, which got great reviews on other websites. The receptionist was rude, the stylist was hurried, and even though I got a decent cut, I was not impressed with my experience. My haircut cost way less than at other salons in Boulder, thank goodness, but my overall impression of the location was not positive. People were just "hanging out" at the salon and my hair dresser decided that they had more interesting things to say than chatting with me. The salon section was messy and the oversized furniture made the area feel cramped. I won't go back.

Other than St. Patty's Day, this bar is a great place to meet friends and have some rib sticking meals. On busy days it can be hard to catch the wait staff. It is a great place for a couple of rounds of beer with a few friends, things can get busy and noisy quickly. This bar seems to be the favorite of graduate students taking some time away from research and teaching.

I always feel kind of strange walking into a salon when all of the hair dressers are sitting and chatting and no one is cutting hair. After reading reviews online about the great cuts I made an appointment in Louisville to get a trim. It wasn't a disaster, but the result wasn't exactly great either.
I got a decent cut by a somewhat grumpy hairdresser, maybe it was the lack of customers. All around it was a mediocre salon, I will make the trip into Boulder at another salon to have my hair done next time.

This is by far my most favorite place for a quick meal, lunch or dinner. The food has always been outstanding, the service prompt, and the price is right. I recommend the Supparod, a mix of cashews, pineapple, your choice of protein, rice, raisins and onions. The only minus is the lack of spirits, but this never seems to lessen my hankering for a good Thai meal.
The digs are small, so if you have a big party this might not be the best place to hold that retirement party or rehearsal dinner. If you are looking for a low key date place or a casual evening away from the crowds on Pearl, then definitely pull up a chair.
