This is one of the best deli's in manhattan, with three generations of ownership. Their Eastern Nova, sable and sturgeon sandwiches have good portions and is the best. When I am entertaining and just buy the same fish separately in larger quantities, its a big hit with all my guests who rave about the taste and quality.
It's definitely an experience to eat there in a setting that reminds you of the 1940's, since the enameled cases are from the period and well worth the wait on weekends.

This is an old established French restaurant on the Westside of manhattan. The food quality is always consistent and delicious, especially the Dover Sole and the seafood specials for the evening, which our attorney selected. The feeling of this restaurant is warm especially, since the husband and wife are owners.

I enjoy this diner, since the food is consistent, especially for breakfast. They have a great French Toast and Waffles and if you ask for the bacon well done, it served that way, but especially if Pete (waiter) is working the counter or tables. A terrific restaurant open seven days a week and open round the clock.

I am a frequent visitor to this small neighborhood place on 86th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. They have delicious iced hazelnut coffee ( No syrup) and a wonderful barbecue chicken wrap and Asian Salad with soy ginger dressing. If you have a sweet tooth, their cinnamon cake and brownies are sinful. The owners Rubin and Jackie are very friendly and definitely a place to visit when you are visiting the upper west side.

This is a relatively new bakery/cafe located on Broadway and 89th street. They have an almond croissant that is delicate and flaky and not too sweet. They also have a rich brownie and during lunch serve a curry chicken on croissant. This definitely is one of my favorites for take out or just relaxing at their sidewalk cafe tables and people watching.

I have been shopping at the 57th street store between Madison and Fifth Avenue for the last two years. I usually buy mens suits and have them tailored. I have never been disappointed with their service or sales staff. They are always eager to help.
Ignore the map. which shows a 34th street location.

We went to a quaint continental restaurant on the upper west side with some friends who enjoy Italian food. He writes for a food newsletter so I trust his judgment when it comes to ordering. We enjoyed a delicate small brick oven pizza as an appetizer with a crust that was crispy and light. I followed this up with an entrée of lasagna that was very unusual, since it was light, yet delicious and I could actually eat the whole entrée without that feeling of a bloated stomach. Definitely enough room for dessert.

I had rediscovered a wonderful Japanese restaurant Shabu Shabu 70 through very good friends. We started with appetizers of fried tofu and a sautéed asparagus. Both were delicate with an extraordinary sauce each with their own unique flavors. Our friends had the bento box which had moist and melt in your mouth teriyaki salmon and came with a selection of sushi which the chef recommended.
Anyone who enjoys authentic Japanese food should definitely try this restaurant.
