If you're in Danbury, you cannot leave without seeing Stews. The "world's largest dairy store' has everything - including characters (the cow) walking around as well as a free pettign zoo outside, which is great for the kids.
They make their own icecream, which is great, and although they sell a lot of prepackaged stuff - a good deal of their products are made in the store.
Also a good place to take field trips with girl scouts, etc.

A small little tidbit - I have been told that Brookfield Shoprite gets their bagels from Bagelman - and they are cheaper there...so if you find you like bagelman, and buy a dozen bagels - head down the street a mile and pick them up at Shoprite.

A good place that has stuff for everyone in the family (except small babies). Big shoe section - I usually buy sneakers there and they have good 'Clear-Out' sales.
Also, around Christmas time, they sell gift certificates for 10% off, which makes for a good deal if you know you are going ot use them yourself.

Not one of my favorites - a simple place if you need to run in and pick up a book. They have chairs, but it is a small bookstore and not one I'd feel comfortable just going to relax and look at a book in, where I feel I could do this in others.
Not a huge selection of books, although they are willing to order anything you need/want.

Borders in Danbury is a great place to stop, pick up a cup of coffee or one of their specialty drinks in their little cafe, and enjoy a good book. It is also a great place to meet up with someone to grab a drink and sit and chat.
They have comfy chairs to sit and read your book - and no one looks down on anyone who picks up a book to read a section of it, and then puts i back on the shelf - while I know some bookstores frown upon this.
A great, relaxing place with decent prices.

My best friend just got married and had the reception at the Candlewood Inn. Although you need to pick a date WAY in advance, it is an absolutely gorgeous place with great food. It looks out over Candlewood Lake and you can come in on a boat into their dock.
They have a bridal suite upstairs for the bridal party before it is announced, which it quite nice.
It was one of, if not the nicest weddings I have ever beed to - and a big part of that was the Candlewood Inn.

It is located in the same plaza as the Wood Bin, and although it may not look like one of the best - I'm sure you won't be upset with your food!
Great for picking up food to take on a picnic!

The people are amazing and while the programs are hard to get through, they are worth it and I recommend hem 110%

I have to agree with the previous review. I am in the Danbury area and stop by at least once a week to see all the new stuff they get in. It is somewhat like an Odd-Lot, although they have really good products. They have many staple items which they always carry - but often get in seasonal and new stuff. Great deals and a lot of fun. Just be warned, don't plan on leavign with only an item or two!
